It seems faggots are counting a round as a full match of attack + defense or whatever. There's a big difference between one round of KOTH and an entire payload map.
Generally the best metric is kills per minute or damage per minute. If you're doing 1K damage per minute you're doing pretty well, if you're doing significantly more than that you are carrying. (Or bastion shooting reinhardst shield.) Likewise, getting 2-3 kills per minute is good, 3-4 is exceptional.

Imagine a MOBA where every player can choose the same hero if they want, without limitation.
Now imagine that every second game is some variation of a cheese strategy where you're up against a party of 4+ people all communicating while performing their cheese strategy, all having picked the same character. That's the non-competitive mode in OW.
Competitive penalizes you with a loss for someone on your team leaving the match, so it isn't to be touched either.
