Are you gonna buy it, /v/?
>>
I'm a little bitch so yes.
>>
>>345049981
Same, honestly. Seems fun with friends
>>
>>345049912
I have all the old carts still, but yeh sure.
>>
So is this what happens when nobody buys a Pii U
>>
No. Call me when they do one for the snes instead.
>>
fuck no
I can just emulate for free
>>
honestly yes
>>
>>345049912
>tiny version
>built-in games with no cartridge support
>only 30 games

No.
>>
Is this the first time a major 1st party console developer has made a plug in and play system?
>>
Nope. NES stuff has mostly aged badly, you have to be nostalgic about it to play them. And if I wanted to play a specific NES game I'd rather just emulate it.

>Emulated, so it won't be 100% accurate
>No cartridge support

I'll pass.
>>
>>345050671
Not if you count Sega or atari
>>
I already have a softmodded Wii with a complete NES and Disk System ROM set, so no.

I'll probably buy two of those classic controllers though.

>>345050671
Sega has been doing this for years, since they always did what Nintendont
>>
>>345049912
Maybe I'll get it so me and my sister can play games on it
>>
>>345050671
underage detected

fucking manchild
>>
I'd rather have an SNES one. Also not enough games, might as well go all the way and put most of them on there. Considering you can download the entire NES library already for like 200mb.
>>
>>345051014
>implying I cant still play emulations with others
>>
>>345050301
If this one does well, we can plausibly expect future releases

>>345050781
>>345050753
Sega and atari don't make hardware anymore, they've liscensed third party companies to make these systems. I've heard they're garbage though. Nintendo sama will come through for this, it'll be worth the 60 burgerbucks
>>
it should be using non-emulated original hardware with sd card support: ~250$

300~ with standard compression
>>
retrofag here...

$60 is a bit steep but god damn the NES was such a great console. I honestly see more replay value in NES classics than I do most PS1 era games, though that's just my opinion. I'd be lying if I said I don't want this

I wonder if in 20 years we'll have data expanded so much we'll be able to fit all current gen games on a flash drive

That's called nostalgia, I do like that you try and label NES games "classics" while calling PS1 games "games".
>>
>>345051251
>2858 files
only about 700 games were released in north america, so if you exclude all the regional variants the file size is going to be a lot smaller

That also includes Famicom Disk System games and a few assorted save files from my end.

Does the little door open? Also can I play games using the nunchuck?

Literally purely for idiots.

Scenario 1: You want to play NES games at a relatively fair price, don't care about accuracy to original console, want a decent sized library
>Buy on Virtual Console

Scenario 2: You want to play NES games at a relatively fair price, care about accuracy somewhat, want a large library
>Buy an original controller, play on emulator on desktop computer

Scenario 3: You want to play NES games at any cost, care strongly about accuracy, want a large library
>Buy the fucking console

Scenario 4: You want to play NES games at any cost, care somewhat about accuracy, want a miniscule library that is impossible to increase
>Buy this shit
>>
>>345051901
They're hitting up that retro chic casual gamer market

>don't own shitty plug and play systems
>"underage"

give some examples?

I know of atari/sega plug and plays like pic related, but those are produced by a third party company
>>
>>345051901
Desu these 30 games are more than enough to appease the nostalgia everyone has for the console. Normies will buy it, and enjoy it, and crack it out every once in a while to get their nostalgia fix. I don't see a problem with it. And if this does well, they'll probably make SNES or maybe n64 mini consoles in the future. I can't possibly see a downside.
>>
At least this gives us a legit nes controller to use on the Wii u virtual console... right?
>>
>>345052426
Correct. And you can buy them separate from the console too for like 10 dollarydoos
>>
Is there a mini Famicom for Japan?
>>
>>345052285
they're good?

At some time I was interested in get one of those.

>>345052426
this is what I'm most exited about

>emulating an NES

Unless you're also emulating the slowdowns, it's not true emulation.
>>
>>345052558
I feel like if Japan does get one of these, they'll get a tweaked game list to be a bit more Japanese, then down the line, they'll get a limited edition NES Mini, and we'll get a limited edition Famicom Mini.

Remember, the game list has the American Super Mario Bros. 2, but not the original Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2
>>
>>345050320
Yeah for free! On my thousand dollar computer! yeah free!
>>
>>345052691
Nestopia, puNES, and FCEUX all emulate slow down and sprite flicker
>>
>>345052807
more free than paying extra cash
>>
>>345052691
This isn't the original hardware either, it's glorified emulation. Watch everyone hack it day one and find open source emulator code and ROMs downloaded directly from the internet, just like every other device of its type.
>>
>>345049912
It's cute so I'll wait for the reviews and then decide it.

My 7 year old laptop emulates anything prePS1 perfectly and plays most PS1 games
