Yes, it's v0.62. Bishop is the most used class in this server for two reasons:

I'd recommend rolling a cleric as your first character. Level until you get Genesis, then make another account with another character (bowman) and leech him up. If you are going to join, I recommend looking up the HP washing guide in the forums. There's also a really good Bishop guide

You will get extremely overwhelmed and then bored really quickly.
The game has an extreme sense of instant gratification and gives you all these questlines + event quests to do and tries to hold your hand through them so much you just don't want to do them.
I stopped when I made a new character a couple months ago and they gave me 100 "Level Tomes" which just instantly level up your character when you use them. Got to level 100 in about 2 minutes of clicking.

I stay firm on my opinion that Nexon has refined the grinding of this game over the years. My arguments are that the mobbing is fast paced and it can be optimized in many ways for better exp gains. I mean, things such as runes, these random exp orbs that appear whilst grinding, all of that stuff counts towards the exp optimization.
What the game lacks right now is attractiveness over the western market. Most players you see right now in GLOBAL are old school players.

Yeah, the game is really weird right now. It's actually not a horrible game if you play it for the endgame bossing and shit, but it's godawful if you actually want to play Maplestory.
They've turned it from a comfy sandbox with simple gameplay into the insanely crazy complex theme park with every character having gigantic AoE moves (all of which are exactly the same, just with different art and damage) and crazy mechanics. Also, there are no skill builds. You just have enough points to get every skill.
Man, I remember playing Dragon Knight. That was fun. Having to actually use the right weapon with the right skill? Wew.

They've definitely streamlined it. I won't deny that. Maps are better designed for optimal grinding, monsters spawn faster and in greater numbers, XP rate is increased, and there are plenty of systems in place to make the grind more exciting, like Runes, chains, and multikills.
But in doing all of this they've taken all of the soul out of the game. Maps are shitty and boring, lacking in imagination. The area around Henesys used to be beautifully-crafted, with platforming and massive maps to scale and explore. Now, it's just a bunch of copies of Henesys Hunting Grounds. A bunch of long, featureless platforms stacked on top of each other. They look like generic garbage made in a level editor.
And with the grinding being fast came a complete shift in the way the game actually worked. Instead of being a leveling-based journey sandbox deal, it became an endgame-focused theme park. Sure, the leveling is faster, maybe even more viscerally rewarding, but that all came at the expense of the gameplay. Every class has huge AoEs to farm with, oneshots enemies, there's no challenge in it any more. There's no sense of accomplishment. It's flat. When they refined the grind, made it sleeker, they also removed all of its flavour.
It just FEELS better to grind in a pre-BB server. I don't know how to explain it.

I couldn't agree more. This problem has been right in front of the developers eyes and they've been unable to identify it. The problem I refer too is that leveling is way too fucking fast in terms of level gains. You can breach through the first 100 levels with ease and guess what you just skipped over two fifths of your character development without making any memories on the way.
The way Nexon manages its content has no coordination. You have plenty of theme dungeons whose only value for players right now are its grinding spots, also plenty of bestiality and maps that goes unused, etc.
But hey, at least lvl 200 players got their own grinding spots now, cheers.

Guys, I played an I/L. Was I the only one supremely pissed at how we were excluded from bosses? And if we weren't then every boss could dispel our magic guard to one shot us. I don't know if anything has changed, but I doubt it.
Also, fuck Nexon for actively encouraging people not to add points to their secondary stat. I stressed out so much over making my character correctly, and then I find out that I never needed to add to LUK and would have been so much stronger without it.

It was around BB that Potential got introduced, which was the most p2w thing I've ever seen in any game. You could get massive amounts of stats by spending hundreds of dollars on cash-shop-only items. The game was always pretty p2w, but this was the first time it moved away from "convenience" and directly towards "buying power".

Most of us were in highschool, and as soon those years were gone, plus the sudden and unexpected removal of GPQ made us drift apart until the guild dissolved. At least some of us are still friends, 10 years later.
