I struggle with that too, anon. I think everyone does. So long as you remember you don't need to be as adept with a tablet as you are with a pen, you should be fine. Working in an art program like SAI or PS will allow you to fix small errors and make your drawing look better.
If all else fails, draw something on paper, take a picture, then trace it on your tablet.

All you need to know to break the cycle in pic related is not to realize that you CAN'T draw, but that you AREN'T drawing WELL. When you look at someone better, don't think "I can't get to their level" but "I'm going to be BETTER than them."

It's all about finding your niche, some people no matter how much they try will never ever be able to draw hyper realistic shit, or shit like detailed machines or scenery or whatever, on the other hand people who can draw those might not be able to draw good cartoony shit or stuff that's more surreal. It doesn't mean you can't try to though, it's still good practice and will still help you in some way.
Having a variety of styles instead of focusing a single style helps a lot, since shit you can apply to one style will still help with elements of another style, and drawing the same shit over and over gets tiring. It can also help reduce same face syndrome and being a BUT IT'S MY STYLE retard. The way you draw will still show up in every type of drawing you do be it cartoony, chinese cartoons, realistic, whatever, but don't settle for a single way of drawing or just one style, if that makes sense.
Of course you do need to know the basics, LOOMIS it up since altering base human proportions and knowing how volume and stuff in 3D works first is where all styles come from.

90% of learning to draw is the initial push to make something that looks good, forms and shit, but that 90% accounts for a very small portion of the actual skill of "drawing". It's just that that's the sticking point. Everything else can be worked on, you can see serious improvement in small amounts of time, you can practice it. But that initial hump can take years to get over, and there are people who just coast past it.
I guarantee you that most of the GOOD artists out there today didn't take 4+ hours a day for 2 years in order to learn how to draw manga-level or webcomic-level art. They rocketed past that level and spent all that time practicing the stuff that makes their art look really stunning.

More importantly, H didn't want to make a big, complicated game. He wanted to make a small, simple game, because no, he wasn't a great programmer. Nobody has ever called him an amazing programmer. When he signed Shwig on, it was for a small, short, simple project, which he knew he could handle.
Shwig then massively escalated the scope of the game into something the programmer wasn't prepared to deal with, using his contract as leverage. Even if the programmer is completely incompetent and did NOTHING for the past 3 years, that's not his fault. It's Shwig's fault for forcing him to work at a level he wasn't ready to work at.
