That's neat, actually. What are the 30 games, I wonder?

I never understood the appeal of these things. At least when chinese bootleggers did it I could see the idea of trying to profit off someone else's work but something like this or the sega ones that have been around for years, I mean kids today aren't gonna want those games and if they do they'll play them on VC or just emulate them.

I'm so tired of Nintendo doing everything else than produce great consoles/games.

Pokemon Go is a shit game, you can't deny it. It only caters to addicts.

Amiibos, why in the fuck people pay money for these things is beyond me. Again, Nintendo is selling to addicts. (Collectors, gotta catch 'em all)

And then there is the constant flow of the same games every year. Mario, Mario mario, Zelda, Mario, Luigi, Zelda.

Most people that would buy this are nostalgia fags.

But those people are likely to actually own the cartridge and the original NES.

You can also emulate the NES perfectly on almost every device out there. Just stick in a USB NES controller and you're done.

That's actually a pretty good deal..? I mean, don't they normally sell these games $5 a pop?
>but I can emulate
Yeah and people can just torrent every new movie. That's fine, but some people actually want to go to the theater. Likewise, some people don't want an enormous cable running from their PC to their living room or mod one of their consoles with homebrew just to play some NES games on their TV. They just want something simple that plugs into a TV and works, that's why clone consoles (especially the ones packed in with games) sell.

I'm not saying it's a good idea to buy one of these, but I definitely see a large demographic who would want this.

I find it strange that they are doing this, because Nintendo is very protective of their brands and image. They must be getting desperate.
>>
>>344988939
Not really, but you need more info to understand why.
NORMALLY, with the televisions being used as 480i devices as intended, you get only half of the scanlines per frame(Odd/Even), and indeed you can't into true 60fps in this mode, because it looks more akin to 30fps with motion blur 2x.

But old consoles don't play this game like that, as its the device itself that selects if the frame will be odd or even, they simply always send odd frames, or even frames, which makes em run a 240p resolution at 60 fps, with half of the lines blacked, the so called "scanline effect".
But you don't notice it much or at all on smaller tubes because the television lines are fat, and you're scanning then twice the normal, thus getting scanlines twice as bright.

That's a too expensive solution, adapting the Wii PCB to accept NES controllers and all.
It's most likely just the cheapest SoC they can put their hands on with some serial ports retrofitted to communicate with the NES controllers using some voltage dividers made with resistors to adapt the voltage levels.

It's not like these things would impact the resale market, or the collecting scene, because it's clearly just a re-released copy and you won't be making new cartridges for it and people will always value the original over even an official reproduction.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PavD0AqfaI
>>
>>344994058
That's not the only option for emulators but I was going to make this point, that the latency you actually feel is more a function of the emulator itself and your display than it is 'muh usb'.
>>344994119
You don't feel subframe latency. A game is either cruising along at 60/50/45/whatever weird arcade monitor you're emulating hz or it isn't. It's the floor.

>Mario Party 2

>>
>>344984367
Convienience I guess.

If you brought one out with some kind of digital access to the ENTIRE NES library, it would defintitely be worth a purchase. 30 is a bit small though.

Will you be able to buy extra games for it?

Save for rare exceptions such as DK64, custom emulators more often than not achieve better accuracy than VC. I was thinking of just buying an actual NES if anything
>>
>>344978953
Nintendo behind the times as usual.

Is this the nx or just a summer project of theirs?

And thus,

>>345000850
>>
>>345002141
128mb would be enough. Maybe 16mb.

Why wouldn't they?

>muh emulators

You think Billy the ten year old gives a fuck? That he is going to autustically browse top NES games and download roms to play on his iphone with shit touch controls instead of impulse buying this thing? Fuck no. It's a neat little console, everyone including your grandmother will be familiar with it and it's going to sell like hot cakes.
>>
>>344978882
>bubble bobble

already worth it.
>>
>>345002696
Which brings us back to >>345002047
>>
>>344998525
>ac adapter not included

WHY do they fucking still do this shit?
>>
>$60
>It'll have drastic input lag by about .25 to .5 milliseconds

No thanks. I'll stick to my CRT.
>>
>>345002889
I think Billy is too busy playing Minecraft on his iPad to give a shit about NES games.
>>
>>344994067
That button placement looks horrendous
>>
>>345002889
If my experience with kids age 14 and down is anything to go by, they won't want this at all.

Hell whenever I bring my wiiu for kids to use they can't even play Mario maker at anything below the new super Mario Bros setting.
>>
Can it play old cartidges or just the preloaded games?
>>
>>345002665
Does it look like it can play BoTW?
It's probably just to use spare parts like every other revised system.
>>
>>345002987
Why bother making it use the Wii Remote instead of the Wii U's USB ports?

Because they support the Wii more than the Wii U.
>>
>>345003270
Only the preloaded games.
>>
>>344995404
>guy fawkes mask on bookcase
>>
>>345003270
The console itself is as long as a cartridge what do you fucking think?
>>
>>344978882

>ONLY Megaman 2

WHY
>>
>>344994734
We're talking lowering a frame accurate input window from 16.67ms to about 16.55ms (assuming a 60hz game)

No one's going to be affected by that.
>>
>>345003358
Because the VC games support the use of the Wii remote on Wii U maybe and not USB controllers?
>>
>>345003076
be a good gaijin and just buy it >:^)
>>
So after Pokemon go and now this I think it's pretty safe to say that Nintendo's Primary Market is people who don't really play games but remember having played games like two decades ago.
>>
>>344980289
It's obviously just for collectors and nostaliafags. My brother re-bought most of the old consoles despite the fact that he could easily emulate it and already has emulators.

I called him an idiot for wasting his money, but not like I can actually tell him what to do with what he earns.

>practically the entire NES library on a 1 or 2GB SD card
>play the games on actual NES hardware
>around $100.
You manchildren can save up some pennies, it's always been in stock.
>>
>>345003472
But Sega does what Nintendon't >>344995632

Pre-installed games AND a cartridge slot WITH two controllers.

How did Sega ever lose?
>>
Why is it always okay when Nintendo does it?
>>
>>344978113
except that's not a real nes.
>>
>>345003076
Because including one would mark it up by like 5 or so dollars when you can just buy a USB cable from a dollar store.
>>
>>345003846
USB cables cost pennies to produce anon.
>>
>>344978113
Will we be able to add more?
>>
>>345003729
>not just hacking your 3DS and downloading a SNES, GBA, and NESrom collection and playing them on an emulator while comfy in bed or on vacation

Pleb. 3DS also has a virtual console that you can pirate classics on or inject roms to be played into the virtual console but not every game has been uploaded with virtual console support.
>>
>>344978882
Good list of games, to be honest.

>>344979664
>no Tetris
They had to pull the Game Boy version fo Tetris from the eShop because Ubisoft is licensing Tetris.

>Castlevania 2 and not 3
I'm more surprised it's Castlevania 2 and not the original.

>Mega Man 2 without 3
Mega Man 2 is the Mega Man everyone wants.

>Shitty Punch Out
It's exactly the fucking same as Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! only with Mr. Dream in place of Tyson since Tyson had lost the title by the time the licensing deal ended. Why pay for his continued likeness if he wasn't the champ anymore?

>Zelda II
Git gud, Zelda II is awesome.
>>
>>345003937
>using an emulator that literally can't achieve frame perfect input
>calling other people plebs
Oh the ironing
>>
>>344978882
is this the real list? because I am definitely buying this then
>>
>>345003904
You do know how these prices are set right?
>>
>>345004132
Show us a source then that shows that Nintendo would have had to add $5 to the cost of the system if they included a cable.
>>
>>345004010

Think the original Castlevania is on here as well as 2.
>>
>>345004419
You're right, my bad.

Still, maybe Castlevania 2 is on there and not 3 because 3 is notorious for not being compatible with clone hardware.
>>
>>344983859
>original hardware
top lel anon that's far too expensive when, you know, good emulators exist

How easy is it to just jailbreak the Wii and use it over this? Does it have a lot of NES games/Nintendo games in general? I only ask cause the 360 was a right cunt to break.
