>Vlad
>Unloved
Literally anyone who's played NMH2 fucking loves him
I've always really liked this boss.
This motherfucker.
>first time playing through the game
>get to this boss
>holy fucking shit, love it to death
>do it like 3 times again just because I loved it so fucking much

Bayonetta 2 was great, one long boss rush that really made you feel like you've mastered the skills. Esp. the humanoid enemies.
>Masked Lumen
>fighting him in the streets
>suddenly lava?
>SUDDENLY ANGELS AND YOU'RE FLYING AND SUMMONING HUGE DEMONS AND HOLY SHIT HIS ANNOYING ASS COUNTER AND WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON NOW MY SUMMON IS PUNCHING YOUR SUMMON
That being said, you probably get the most exhilaration out of fighting Rodin, like holy shit. No healing, one wrong move, you literally get fucked down to 1hp, stressful as hell with all those AOE's and then he transforms and ups the ante. Good shit.

What? It's the whole game that's unloved and underrated.
What you've posted is one of the most memorable and enjoyable bosses in the thing.
>>344964232I STILL need to fight Rodin. I know, I know.

>What? It's the whole game that's unloved and underrated.
I do agree with that. Definitely one of the most underrated and overlooked games of all time.
>What you've posted is one of the most memorable and enjoyable bosses in the thing.
Is it? You never see people talk that much about it. Actually speaking of, here's a boss that I think is really underappreciated:

Used to fucking HATE this boss. Died against it so many times my first time through the game. Now I fucking love it for its unrelenting design. It's the sort of 'everything at once' design that I feel an action game should have. Because holy shit.
>have to hit or avoid the spikes he shoots at you
>they explode after awhile once they hit the ground so you have to either get out of the way or destroy the ones near you
>have to deal with the little baby enemies he throws at you, meaning you have to avoid them as projectiles first, then enemies
>have to deal with the missiles he fires at you, either reflecting them back (which requires either immense concentration and skill on your part while you're dealing with everything else) or avoiding them altogether, which can be kind of tough
>have to avoid the big ass laser he shoots at you
>eventually he just straight up dives at you
>you have to avoid him then counterattack by getting in close and meleeing him
>doesn't even stay there that long so if you fuck up and take too long, he'll just get back in the waterfall
>on top of all this, you have to be constantly trying to hit his weakspot (since he's invulnerable everywhere else); you're probably going to be charging up your laser to shoot at him every chance you get
Fuck, what a taxing fucking boss fight. God, Treasure is amazing at designing bosses.

>You never see people talk that much about it
How often do you see people talk about any particular boss in the game?
The only one I ever bring up is Deco to complain about that stupid bungee cord handcuff fistfight at the end of a hard level late in the game.

>The only one I ever bring up is Deco to complain about that stupid bungee cord handcuff fistfight at the end of a hard level late in the game.
That was some fucking bullshit.
Also I had no idea I typed up that much in that last post. Still though, holy shit.
>>344965024
I still think most of the forest is a huge slog, but you're right, that boss is fun. I wish they just cut out some of the level so that it doesn't kill momentum so much.
>>344965704
I fucking love that level. It's probably my favorite in the game. Probably has the highest concentration of good boss fights in the whole game.
Everyone hates him but I think everything about this boss is superb.
>>344965704
The entire game is too long, honestly. Every section and boss outstays its welcome at least a little bit, especially if you're milking shit for score, because almost everything that isn't autoscrolling can be milked.
If they could have kept the amount of content and cut out a lot of the repetition, it would be one hell of a game.
Wasn't even a boss but managed to be one of the tensest enemies in the game.
>>344966016
> everyone hates him
No they don't, Orphan is usually features in the top 5 favourite fights of the game or even the series.
>>344966754
How is that not a boss? A boss doesn't just have to be a big tough guy in a circular arena.
>>344960097
What is this OP?
>>344967250
He's more like a mini boss. For the first timer he's fucking nightmare that can be ran away from.
Jupiter King is the best boss in Metal Slug 3.
>>344966754
It's weird that in retrospect I was more scared of fighting that guy again than i was of fighting the mother plaga/salazar.
Salazar i took apart in seconds with my bolt action rifle. That guy showed me the same courtesy.
>>344960097
Second best theme in the game after Margaret.
Also fun as fuck.
>>344967558
>ruining delucious pixel art of metal slug with filters
>>344967964
That's pretty obviously a drawing you silly, look at the backgrounds.
Wish I found a larger pic
>>344968016
Oh, then forget my post, but yeah I agree that is the best boss of Metal Slug 3.
>>344968097
you mean as in easiest boss?
>>344960097
>we will never get a No More Heroes fighting game with the whole cast of bosses playable
Feels bad, man.
>>344968097
> not double hand gene
Why are cosmonauts so fucking cool?
He's not really a boss, since you never fight him, and asura's wrath technically has no bosses, but I really liked Sergei in Asura's Wrath
He's just a giant piece of shit and he knows it and he loves it. You basically just see him orgasm and shudder in pleasure after he kills an entire city at once, and every line he says just drips with androgynous creepyness.
Also, he pretty much outright goes "IT WAS ME, IT WAS ME ALL ALONG" in one scene where there's this really dumb wide angle shot of his face that makes it look stretched out and it's just silly and hammy as fuck
>>344966016
>Everyone hates him
Everyone hates him for being such an asshole wrecker, but generally agrees that he's one of the best fights in the game, and possibly the series.
Maybe not underrated as such, but I think people don't talk about Paper Mario bosses enough. Some of them are some of my favourite bosses in vidya.
Shadow Queen was such an ass kicker and a great story event.
Also, Dark Bowser from Bowser's Inside Story.
Great middle ground between a duel fight and a puzzle.
As a whole I see a lot of hate for puzzle or gimmick bosses in action games, but I like some of them. It's fun to see how they implement such stuff for a gameplay that isn't meant for it, although it can easily fall on its face.
