The original design for the lone gunslinger was a cool-ass mexican bandito based off of The Man With No Name, and this was one of the more popular designs.
Out of nowhere, the main artist- whom I'm guessing was this Schwig fellow, I never knew his name- decided that he doesn't want it, so he made a shitty annie oakley instead.
The entire community proceeded to tell the folks working on broquest at the time to fuck right off and stop fixing what wasn't broken. The artist and the other folks in his inner circle said no, and desperately tried to justify why their take was better than the community's, despite it being a community project.
In the end, the bitching got so bad the main artist just said 'fuck it' and made a third version, where the mexican bandito fellow was so coverred up you couldn't make out what gender it was at all.
That was the first real red flag, that was where I broke away from the project, and from the looks of it things only got worse.
Also that filename should be 'bottom left corner'

Most drawfags who would dabble in this kinda thing may have seen schwig as someone who had made it for real, definitely someone to look up to/aspire to be I think. Ignoring how outrageous that was, I was also working part time as an electrician to help pay the bills, and I couldn't just go out and spend hundreds of dollars on what amounted to be hipster clothing.
Shit was weird. She was completely fine, and then one day just snapped. I let contact drop off and didn't bother keeping up with her after she removed me and wouldn't look my way at Uni. Last I heard, she got into some bad shit with some hipster boyfriend and ended up getting beat up because she couldn't "get to his level" with her art.
Whew. Didn't mean to make it so long winded, but people that dedicate themselves to art are just ticking time bombs. I have no idea what it is that causes such dramatic shifts in mood and attitude, unless they're all mentally ill and undiagnosed.

You can be a good artist, programmer, idea guy, musician etc. but if you do a 180 and shit the bed in a hissyfit in the worst imaginable then you can bet someone is going to hear about. You'd be surprised. Lots (perhaps even a majority) of loli art features bodytypes that aren't exactly child-like. You almost never see narrow pre-pubertal hips, and pear-shaped figures with accentuated hips are by far most common. Although DFC is common, small but defined breasts are also equally common, which altogether suggest that most loli art is made with heterosexual teleiophilic men in mind. I'd argue that loli is a sexual illusion similar to futa, where a number of sexual cues are combined in an unrealistic manner in order to take advantage of the way the male brain is wired to perceive anatomical cues. There's also that taboo element there which may add some psychological appeal. That's not to say that loli art for genuine pedos doesn't exist - there's definitely some artists out there who dabble in that, and if you take a look at their work you'll immediately see the differences - weird, bony asexual figures that your average lolifag will probably find incredibly offputting. The kind with pronounced sexual characteristics seems way more common, presumably because of the wider appeal and the fact that most consumers aren't genuine pedos.

Here's the ugly thing; you may as well. The ugly thing about living as an artist is you're so woefully unappreciated for your work. People by and large do not respect artists, we are already scammed by society (living in the US, that's my experience anyway) and why would they respect us? We're just doodling pictures as far as they can see. This is honestly the outlook most of us get if you draw for cartoons, video games, what have you. The areas to make revenue for us doesn't exist nearly as commonly as a lot of other things so why not take every opportunity for money you can find. That is honestly my take away right now and it's not one I'm proud of.
Still, I couldn't actually bring myself to do anything the way he did. I mean, I know he didn't do it intentionally (or at least I hope) but I'd rather die poor than betray my mates like that, even if we didn't see eye to eye anymore.

As an artist myself I see where you are coming from, but Schwig had the chance to make even more money by selling the assets. He had already made what I consider to be a fortune and had the chance to make more leaving by just giving up the assets. I understand the attachment to some art pieces be they doodles or finished pieces but "work art" should be considered separate from that. It's something you need to stick to. The first thing you need to do is to learn to see the world and study things in terms of physical reality, free yourself of symbol drawing. I don't know an easy way to achieve this, but breaking up objects around your house in terms of light and shadow might be a good start.
The second thing you need to do is draw things as they actually appear in reality. You will fuck it up.
The third thing you need to do is figure out how and why you fucked up and either fix it or start over again and avoid fucking up on your second go. Repeat until you no longer fuck up.
At some point between your first fucking up and the end of your life, you can start to stylize and use exaggeration, symbol drawing, simplification and distortion for artistic effect.
