it worked for the first one. yeah it sucks that you still go down the same path, but being able to choose what you want to say and what to do when you have a binary choice makes you care more about Lee throughout the story.
in the second game it was just stupid bullshit
Season one is one of the best games of the past 5 years and Lee is one of the best protagonists.

In my opinion, one of the biggest reasons for Season Two sucking so hard was that how it never, never gave the players those short breathing rooms in which nothing would happen until you progressed the scene, until you took an obvious "lets progress the story" action. During that time, you could freely roam around the room, inspect stuff, and ask questions to people.
That rarely ever happened in Season Two.
