How do you cope with the pain, /v/?

Mostly furry ERP
>>
By not overrating a mediocre dev whose main claim to fame was mixing two things that shouldn't be mixed, FPS and platformers

>9 years ago they were gaming's greatest hope
>Today they're a mediocre games store and a casino for preteens
>There are gaming newfags who don't even know VALVe made games.
>Mfw

I guess it was bound to happen. Valve's corporate organisation makes them inefficient for any big project. But seeing them fall out of grace like this just hurts.

Buying cheap shit on steam sales and playing that instead.
>>
From the beginning I was more excited with the potential of STEAM itself vs any particular valve game.
>>
Valve will never make games again because they don't have to.

I wonder where all the money go

into their wallets so they can take vacations and not work on games
I wonder if they even still have all that rad tf2 and various other game shit in their offices, or if they removed it because it would make them feel like shit every time they walk into their offices, knowing every day that they're being lazy pieces of shit and draining money from millions of preteens instead of actually working on anything close to a vidoegame
>>
I've hated them ever since it was clear Alien Swarm would remain a cocky ease.
>>
I guess nothing good ever comes from working for Microsoft
>>
I've long given up on them. They'll never make a good game again, let alone Half Life 3.
>>
Doesn't matter, valve are pretty stagnant these days anyway. Lots of other companies picking up slack.
>>
Valve has gone from God tier dev, and dependable provider, down to shit tier money grabbing shady casino smoke in mirrors irresponsible fuckwits in a short turn of a decade. I used to be fairly satisfied and put a bit of trust into the company but after tf2 they completely changed thier business model and they are about as shitty as microsoft in my book. Hope they get what's coming to em.

screw them, never really liked them personally. shady folks.

Shouldn't have bought those TF2 hats.
Shouldn't have bought all those cheap games that you didn't really want.

>Implying Half Life 2: Episode 2 wasn't the last true single player game they released

>That was 9 years ago

Yes, we all know- Valve doesn't make games. They just sit around and scam people while directly funnelling their tens of millions of dollars each month into their personal bank accounts instead of, you know, innovating and making new IP's and games based around their most well known brands.

It was Team Fortress, Counter Strike, and Half Life that made Valve a good company- and it's their Steam, micro transactions, and utter lack of variety that makes them a great money making machine at the cost of their integrity and original ethic.

Gabe is a sad man.

Sad, isn't it?

This. There's no point in taking the risk of developing a game when steam is doing well and keeps growimg every year. With that said, weren't they working on Steam2?
>>
More money than god and they give you hats.
>>
HL3 is coming. It will have something new in it, but it won't be VR. They will not release something that doesn't have significant innovation.

Check out the youtube channel VNN or valve news network.

I've been waiting for HL3 so long... and it just looks like it's gonna be longer still.
