I got into BB after a 7 year hiatus. I actually put the game down for 2 weeks because it was kicking my ass and I could not progress through yanham let alone the first boss.
But I picked it up and stuck with it and I recommend you do the same. It's hard at first but once you learn the mechanic off by heart the reward is one of the best games you ever experience in your lifetime.

Played Bloodborne after DS1 and DS3. It's by far better and harder. DS3 doesn't throw 3 NPCs like players at you in a dark room at the ame time. It's also much faster. Playing Dark Souls game doesn't prepare you for the massacre.

You can parry so fucking much in this game, enemies are easily stun locked, stamina barely depletes, and dashing is extremely OP to compensate for a lack of viable shields.

Once you beat Yahar'gul you can do the DLC areas. I'd say leave those until you beat Mensis though because beating the DLC will make you too OP for the final bosses.
