The 3DS release of the GBC game really helped out a bunch I think, and it helps that Pirate's Curse was a really fun game(Not to say Risky's Revenge wasn't fun or anything). I'm glad the Kickstarter actually got funded even if it's taken this long to finish.

I met Shantae before Risky's Revenge was released, after seeing a promotional video for WarioWare DIY where Matt Bozon created a Shantae minigame on the DS.
I played and loved the original and my hype for RR was through the roof. Unfortunately there was no way for me to play it.

The humble success this series is enjoying nowdays means much more if you take a look at the history of hardships they had to develop and publish the first two games, having to beg for a publisher or make use of the very limited platform of the DSiWare to release the game.
I'll be honest, I only played this game because it gave me a boner and at the time there was nothing to play for the 3DS.
