But anyway, no. More buttons, or more skills, doesn't actually mean more skill and does not, infact, require you to "git gud".
All you have to do is remember a sequence of buttons to play, sometimes forcing you to bind them in uncomfortable to reach areas of your keyboard, especially if you are left handed.

the combat system in ff14 is built entirely around having nice animations, and suceeds in that. The only well designed classes in that game are Black Mage and Warrior. Everything else plays like shit. The only original spell in the entirity of 14 is holmgang.
WoW combat is so much more engaging for a number of reasons. Abilitys hit hard in a meaningful way ( Raiton is a sin against god). Suceeding is about wisely banking and spending different kinds of resources and creating synergies in your kit.
Machinist is also one of the most bloated classes, bar arcanist on controller with a bunch of macros to make up for the fact they on a controller. Hunter is in one of the worst spots in legion. They havent even given them Eyes of the Beast back yet.
Compare ninja to legion's enhancement shaman and you'll be done with your pretty class very fast.
Legion is a big step in the right direction in terms of class definition. They achieve it through gameplay, not animations. Demon hunter is not very well designed, but its still better than the class design of 14 where the MOST ICONIC CLASS in final fantasy is LITERALLY JUST A WARLOCK defend this dogshit game more please.
that said the story in havensward going zone to zone was very well done and made me care about characters who were paper thin in ARR and i miss the saucer and the more indepth gathering. Class design and combat made me leave the game. Im suprised they managed to balance the feast, its stunning really

However consider this Anon, baine has close to zero experience as a leader, he has close to zero experience in war. He's also young, very young. If you think about it he was just a baby during warcraft 3, there was a quest to rescue him because the harpies kidnapped him or some shit.

Besides the fact Sylvanas is undead the problem is with arthas dead and absorbing all the valkryie ladies in the Foresaken she can easily raise entire armies...and end-wrath, mid-cata perfectly sets her up to be the one to turn off that undead free will switch and make her own Scourge. And now being Warchief what can stop her from going over the boundries? She can start kidnapping from across the horde to make some disgusting crypt monsters or other sick undead things. Garrosh and most of the Horde have a good reason to distrust and hate the undead. Using your enemies remains as a fleshpuppet is wrong and should be left to rest after dying honorably.

Goblins have always been favored employees of the Horde, and have been working with them for a very long time. It just wasn't until recently that they joined them.
Meanwhile Sylvanas and the Forsaken were mortal enemies of the Horde in life, and still plan on using them and then betraying them even now. They were only allowed to join in the first place because Magatha fucking Grimtotem vouched for them.
Sylvanas is literally the worst possible candidate for warchief. Even Gamon would be a better choice, and he's a fucking Burning Blade supporter.

Vanilla and BC were a different game entirely with a completely different approach to game design, and Wrath hadn't yet decided on their design goals. It wasn't until MoP that they really figured their shit out, and WoD and Legion are refining that formula.

In vanilla you had to worry about shit like weapon speeds and weapon skill and downranking your skills so you wouldn't run out of mana, and every single attribute was important to everyone except warriors and rogues who didn't care for spirit and int. But on the flipside, rotations weren't even a concept, half of your time in combat was spent just waiting for autoattacks because you were OOM/all your skills were on cooldown/you didn't have any useful skills except Aimed Shot.
Nowadays, every class has a fun and engaging rotation, with cool and thematic abilities like Lifebloom and Kill Command and Avenger's Shield. You never sit around just waiting for autoattacks unless you're retarded and play a death knight, and combat in general is just more involved. Players have about twice as many skills as they would have had in vanilla, and nearly all of them are useful, as opposed to vanilla where you were lucky to have more than two abilities worth putting on your bars.
But this came at the cost of dumbing down a lot of the mechanics. Weapon speeds don't matter at all. Weapon skill doesn't even exist anymore. Attributes are basically meaningless. A lot of cool and esoteric abilities like Eyes of the Beast or Sentry Totem were removed for no justifiable reason, and a lot of class flavor has been abandoned in the name of improved balance and gameplay.
