Please. Hans makes most battles a joke, the mercenary route while hard to trigger is short and boring, endings are lame, characters are not as interesting as 3 or 4 and there're not enough sidequests.

Radiant Historia is more story based though. It's a great game anyway. Time travel done right, beautiful art and one of my favorite soundtracks ever.

I thought Devil Survivor 2's story was a lot weaker because it lacked the atmosphere of the first game. As for the characters, I thought the devil survivor 2 characters had more development and the girls were much cuter but I felt like the characters in devil survivor 1 were more significant in enhancing the storyline.
As for the gameplay, while 2 made some improvements it also gave the player access to too much overpowered stuff and it seemed like more battles were just about killing enemies whereas the maps mattered more in 1.

The game gives you the choice of picking either the female protag who's a healer/priest or the male protag who's a soldier
They both have a different story and different party members but they eventually all meet and you can swap between all members regardless which protag you picked
The game starts off pretty easyin the beginning but has a massive difficulty spike getting towards the middle of the story
Imo playing the female route was basically hard mode because the male protag's team was good and fem protag's kinda blows but she herself is probably the best character gameplay wise
That Yuma fight is pretty bullshit. Without ex skill I am not even sure how to beat him.

Yeah, Hexyz Force is pretty good. Achieving the toughest ending on hard mode was actually a pretty satisfying challenge. The final boss of that route is brutal.

Etrian Odyssey hands down has some of the smartest, toughest, but most interesting RPG combat out there. Nothing else comes close. But it's not really all that hard to pick up.
