i'd rather her mom
Why is she so cute ?
There's an ending where Sigma and Diana are talking. A cloaked assassin comes in, and Sigma holds him/her off while Diana runs to get Phi.
The assassin kills Sigma, then Phi, and eventually Diana before walking out the X door.
Was it ever revealed who the assassin was? Or what they were doing there? Or why they killed group D?
I just beat the game and this was never answered.

>>344760762
C'mon Eric, you heard me. Shoot the thread, it won't die.
Had a dream that 999 ended with you running off with Aoi and banging him.
Then playing a direct sequel where you either choose to side with Aoi or Akane on their plans for reforming the world with crash keys and both routes branched off into separate timelines you can jump between.
Aoi was using media brainwashing to try and reform society into creating more SHIFTers
Akane's was more refined and about saving a few key people.
Dream was pretty cool until I had to wake up.
>>344763227
It's alright. I prefer 999 orchainsawAkane
She was a qt in 999 it's true
Let's face it, these are bound to die sooner or later.

All the "Deceased" portraits were somewhat unnerving...
Im currently playing through VLR and just got a "to be continued" ending. Im now completely turned off from playing the game. I got another ending before that which can only be described as a bad ending and felt that was fine because it was a result of a choice i made. I dont feel like i did anything wrong this time but feel like i was punished regardless. None of the 999 endings made me feel this way.
>>344763987

>>344764157

I don't know if you know, but it's not technically an "ending", I mean, you can continue them, you just need to explore the other paths and come back.
Diana > Luna
>>344764157
>Punished
The whole game is about different timelines influencing each others. Think as if the safe ending influencing the coffin ending in 999 but on steroid.
>I didn't think i did anything wrong

>>344764157
What kind of fragile little soul is hurt by a bad ending in a game where getting all the endings is the whole point.
I finished ZTD and I have a question...In which path was it that, after getting a game over, you get an scene of Sigma and Diana exiting through the X door while saying something like "Don't worry, everyone is still alive"?
What did he mean by that?
>>344764157
>Why does game about getting bad ends give me bad end?

>>344764315
that honestly sounds like really shit design. Why am i being gated? Would it ruin the experience if i didn't have certain information? In that case why didn't it lock me out earlier instead of wasting an hour or 2 of my time? Because when i finally do return to that path im probably going to forget the specifics of what occurred just prior.
>>344764624They either got injected with the memory loss drug or they're extremely naive in the belief that everyone else is alive.
>>344764708
>Would it ruin the experience if i didn't have certain information?
Play the game.
>>344764708
shut up and play the game
You are being "gated" because you don't have the information to solve the problem presented to you in that path and need to return once you have it.
>>344764708
Yes. It would ruin the experience. And it couldn''t gate you out earlier because then it would destroy the illusion of choice. About a quarter of the paths are locked, and after you've gotten to one lock or game over it becomes increasingly easy to get new paths because you can skip dialogue and puzzles you've done. Play the game fuckwit, it'll make sense when you're done
>>344764570
>>344764630
it wasn't a bad ending. The characters were having a conversation and then all of a sudden "to be continued" showed up out of nowhere. It shouldn't have let me go down that path to begin with if it was going to do that.
>>344764793
I thought that scene had some hidden meaning or something, but what you just said makes sense. Thanks.
>>344765010
No, it should and if you finish the game it;ll make sense. Because you can go back to your last choice and get an actual ending that may help you unlock. Again, play the game you baiting fuck. What were they talking about?
>>344765010
So basically the entire concept of multiple timelines and that you need information from them to continue through others is completely lost on you? Go play another game
>>344765010
>Played 2 hours of the game
>A game about fucking time travel and mysteries
>Hurr durr I don't understand
Play the game
>>344765010
>It shouldn't have let me go down that path to begin with if it was going to do that.
>Sigma do you want to go through the red door or the green door?
>The green door
>Sorry you're not allowed to yet
>>344765010
If it shouldn't have let you go down that path, then when should it've stopped you? Because stopping you at any point before the start would've still given you to be continued and just ruined the illusion of choice. It doesn't mean continued in another path, It means literally come back there and continue later
>>344765010VLR actually only has one actual ending, getting the others aren't cosidered beating the game

>>344766831
That will be answered in Zero Escape 4. Please look forward to it.
Holyshit i just finished this and have some questions. Spoilers just incase
1. That old man being there the entire time was a wtf. Why does none of the characters pretty much ever mention him or even consider his existence? I know he is said to be blind and can't hear but still. He is present in at least some of the events like the one where Q team searches the library and we dont even see him but gets shot.
2. Why does Sigma need to use transporter in the timeline when he was trapped with Diana when he can just shift? He said he was using it whether or not Diana was going so it doesnt seem he was using to move to another timeline so he can get Diana out also.
3. Why would Diana knowingly kill 6 billion people she went out of the shelter?
4. When did Carlos kill Zero? He mentioned it in one of the timelines.
5. In the history where radical-6 gets released why does Akane say she will spend 45 years to prepare for the VLR ab game to save the world when all she had to do was shift again to another history? All preparations were already done.
6. When did Mira kill Junpei and why? Zero also mentioned she was an important part of the plan but how so? Also it was mentioned she killed Diana and Sigma in one of the timelines, which one was this and how did this happen?
7. Is there anything after the ended when Carlos points his gun at Zero? Also is there a Q/A the previous games?
8. Why does Sigma seem so stupid? He is meant to be some crazy smart 67 year old but honestly doesnt seem that smart when interacting with Phi and Diana.
So I guess we'll never find out how Clover and Alice went back to the past.
>>344767039
Here you go anon.Game is a mess. There isn't that much to look into
>>344767172
This will be revealed in the 4th game. I hope you guys look forward to it!
Holy shit i just noticed this entire game and all its outcomes are controlled by Q. I knew we were looking into the screen in the perspective of Q but all the decisions are done by Q also.
Just fucking stop making these threads the game has already been fucking discussed.Just wait for the inevitable ZE 4 announcement
>>344767497Should read Zero
>>344765981
Except for the twist. Which is the most important aspect for a mystery game.
>>344767039
>Why does none of the characters pretty much ever mention him or even consider his existence?
They do, you just don't ever see it :^)
>>344767039>6. When did Mira kill Junpei and why? Zero also mentioned she was an important part of the plan but how so? Also it was mentioned she killed Diana and Sigma in one of the timelines, which one was this and how did this happen?
After the vote, most likely. She was a crazy bitch, anon, she doesn't need a reason to kill. We are never told exactly how much she was into Zero's game.
She kills Team D in the timeline in which Team Q decided to inject Radical-6 into themselves and Diana didn't press the blue button (which, detonated a bomb). After killing Eric and wounding Sean, she wore a cloak and attacked Diana and friends before leaving the shelter.
>>344767039
I think Mira is part of the plan because she's connected to the tales Zero tells to them. Same with Eric.
Mira pretty much ruined Eric's life unknowingly. Indirectly with Sean and Akane, too.
Also Sigma's probably stupid because he seemed to be his 22-23 year old self. I don't think they mentioned him being mentally 67 in ZTD but I must have missed it.
>>344767508
Don't tell me what to do.
>>344767606
But 999 was a better version of Ever 17 in that regard especially. It felt more integrated into the game and had the advantage of justifying it's creation on the DS. Ever 17 works well as a twist but that is it. 999 works not only as a story twist, but as a way to explain literally everything about the gameplay and storytelling techniques included up to that point

1. They made reference to him, you just didn't notice. see >>344767263
2. He didn't have any danger to act as a catalyst for shifting.
3. She cared more about saving Phi and Sigma
4. He is referring to the timeline where Q-Team gets executed in the Decontamination room. Carlos is the one that voted differently, so he's the one that killed them.
5. Someone has to do it, shifting doesn't solve all your problems.
6. Because she's cuh-razy, I guess. She killed him in between teams waking up. She acts as the "Piranha in the Koi Tank", kind of like Dio in VLR. I don't remember which timeline/fragment, but after you are done escaping, D-Team goes back to the Lounge there is a tall hooded figure in heels, black-painted nails and a scalpel that kill Sigma and Phi.
7. Delta is making Carlos play the final Decision Game.
8. He's still the goofy person we knew in VLR, but he spent 45 years, practically alone, and now he's back with 2 people that he hasn't seen in many years, on an important mission that he doesn't know what's going on exactly. He's trying his best or something.
Anyone else find the puzzles to be really disappointing? They were all super obvious and hand holdy. VLRs were a lot more challenging.
>>344769225
>5. Someone has to do it, shifting doesn't solve all your problems.
But isnt it the case that its already done in one of the histories so it doesnt have to happen again? Transported Sigma and Phi are already here. After all, all they are trying to do is make 1 timeline where radical-6 doesnt spread and they've found it.
>>344769667
That was the timeline where she did in fact plan everything out (VLR timeline). The game was just showing you how it went down the first time. At least that's how I took it. Like how in VLR young sigma got sent back to study genetics and shit for an eternity.
>>344769614
The first one I did was the Teleporter room which was pretty tough so I though "wow they're not fucking around here".
But then the rest of the game was pretty easy.
VLR was definitely harder but a lot of the time I would get stuck on things I thought were kind of obtuse and frustrating.
>>344770007
Yeah some of the puzzles in VLR could've been cleaned up a bit/explained better. The seed germination comes to mind. But they felt much more like an actual puzzle with random hints rather than a set of instructions. The secret solutions were fun too.
I was expecting the same obtuseness and spent a lot of time way overthinking some of the puzzles and then giving in and trying the "obvious" answer and hanging my head thinking "it was actually that fucking simple"
>>344763926
>be driving in Nevada
>see this

>>344769614
That fucking jar positioning in the radical-6 room was pure shit. I used the microscope to check how many was lumped together with the chart of the screen but nope. I just went with all the combinations.
>>344771150
The microscope was for thelocker which gave you some pillswhich apparently hinted the correct order but I brute forced it, too.

Doubt it's anything super interesting though.
>>344767838
I thought 999's twist sucked because it felt like they went too hard too fast with the crazy magic shit desu
Like they TALK about morphogenetic fields for the whole game and then at the very end Junpei uses it to faintly remember an eight-digit code and then ten minutes later he's fucking communicating with seven year old Akane through time and space
The whole game was more or less grounded in reality and I think that's what sets it apart from the other two. VLR and ZTD go off the rails with the alternate reality shit but that makes sense because they slowly introduce not only the concept but the idea that our heroes can actually use it for something throughout the whole game. I wanted 999's ending to be a little more grounded in reality just like the game and as cool as it was it felt out of place
Ever17 meanwhile keeps the spooky supernatural shit up for a good amount of the game so it's not as ridiculous

I thought the dating sim elements in Ever17 were kinda bullshit a lot but they also got you to give a shit about the characters and the endings were all pretty great (even if they didn't live up to Coco route hell)
I agree about claustrophobia though, I liked the atmosphere of the theme park a lot but Zero Escape edges it out there so I'm sure Remember11 will too

Mira's sociopathy gets better and she goes to jail for her crimes. She marries Eric for some reason and then Sean busts her out of jail so they can use the teleporter to stop young Mira from killing that woman.

Sean, Sigma, Phi, Carlos, Akane and probably Diana can SHIFT with perfect memories of the previous timelines. They might have picked it up at different speeds and earlier and later than others but they all are as good as they can get, no need to nitpick.
That said IIRC there are moments in VLR where Sigma and Phi shifted without being in direct danger like the Dio ending or when Sigma betrayed Phi in the AB game so there's a difference if that's correct.
>>344774007

but the morphogenetic field was useless in this game, when did they even use it?
>>344774767
>Does it have to be shifting tho? They could've accessed the meme field and downloaded the information.
You're probably right for most Sigma examples I can think of.
But when Sigma betrayed Phi she definitely shifted to the true route to betray Sigma. The thing is when she shifted she still had a couple of points left and she knocked out Sigma who was the only character with 9 points, She wasn't in any (immediate) danger and was just upset.
It makes sense for Phi to be the most powerful SHIFTer because of her brother's epigenetic manipulation.
>>344775359
Because the computer calculated that 7 shifters, 1 retard, a serial killer, and a dog would be able to stop the fanatic, duh.
R6 was just a failsafe.
>>344775010
idk I liked these a lot.

So young mom killed was Eric´s mom, man who was accused of it and his wife who killed herself because of it are Akane´s parents and the kid who died because of doctor dead is Delta´s adoptive brother.
Is that correct ?
>>344775590
Whenever a character "just knows" a password.
So they do all of this to create one timeline where radical 6 breakout doesn't happen. Putting it into perspective with all the shifting stuff going on, worse case scenario is that they will ALWAYS be able to create a timeline where whatever bad shit happens won't happen because they can always shift back to the past to create a new timeline.
>>344775490
Tried to top VLR. Crashed and burned.
>>344775643
Didn't that Phi go through ZTD ? It would explain why she's decent at shifting already.
>>344775590
Right at the end, they got their memories of all the timelines because they downloaded it through the field.
>>344774792
Yeah, I can see that.
I've heard the game just kind of... ends. Like out of the blue. Apparently they ran out of money, right?
I've heard there are enough hints/notes online to decipher how the VN was originally supposed to end, though. And I've played through the Zero Escape franchise so I'm used to disappointing endings.
>>344775252
>We want to appeal to new players
>Then why is the central conflict and the reason a third of the people are there barely explained and all but requires knowledge of the past game
>And why are the events of 999 only barely hinted at
>Well we want it to be for franchise fans too
>THEN WHY DO NONE OF THEM INTERACT OUTSIDE OF THE CHARACTERS WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN THEM INTERACT WITH
>WHERE IS THE PHI AND JUNPEI BANTER
>AND WHY DO ALL THE OLD CHARACTERS SUCK NOW
>AND WHY DOES IT END WITH SOME OPEN-ENDED MGS2 BULLSHIT
desu I can't even really be mad at the game, I don't want to excuse Uchikoshi's inherent hack-ness but it's obvious he tried and the budget just wasn't there. The fucking visuals are the obvious indicator (every fucking close up on Diana oh my god) but it seems like the game is building up to something huge and then in Apocalypse when Zero first mentions the terrorist it starts to feel like it's rushing towards the end and there's a lot of stuff missing.
The Quantum Computer should have played a bigger role than just being there for Sean. And there should have been a final puzzle room. And ofc Kyle and Left and ? were never really explained.
I just hope someday we find out how it was supposed to end.
>>344775980
>WHERE IS THE PHI AND JUNPEI BANTER
Explain.
>>344775742
The kid who died was just some random kid Delta knew and was friends with when he was in the hospital. He made Sean so that in some way the kid could have a second chance at life
>>344776124

>>344775673

>>344776124
Best part of 999 puzzle rooms is Junpei's dialogue with the others imo
And best part of VLR is Phi and Sigma arguing all the time but when they're in groups of three or split off from each other they're still hilarious
Whereas here
>Phi spends the whole game dead
>Sigma spends the whole game with his arms crossed
>Junpei spends the whole game bickering with Akane
>They never interact outside of like two scenes
tbf Sigma had some great scenes here and there but I wanted to see the teams get switched up and see how edgelord Junpei and Phi got along, or seeing how Phi and Sigma acted around him knowing what he was like in the future
It just feels like such a missed opportunity that they brought back the two main characters from each game and then they just stuck them in two opposite ends of the shelter never to speak to each other
>>344775980
>I've heard the game just kind of... ends. Like out of the blue. Apparently they ran out of money, right?
Probably. And you're right ,there is like a bazillion of hints ,hidden in bad ends or behind inconspicuous choices that gives a lot more meat to the story ,but the relative complexity of what they were aiming for makes it for the people that didn't read pages of fan theory quite cryptic. And it doesn't help that the last scene actually ends with a cliffhanger ,but the explanation is hinted elsewhere
If you throw in a dozens of analogies ,metaphors and all it gets very complicated to get a clear image of the game
>>344776317
There wasn´t even enough Phi i think.

I thought Sigma was acting retarded o hide that he's really old but then Diana reveals Sigma immediately said he's from future to everyone way back at Dcom
>>344776529
That description fits with Sigma as well.
>>344776427
I just wanted to see Phi and Akane making fun of Sigma for being a Zero. But i get you too.
>>344776432
Oh, wow. That does suck.
I'll play through it anyway but I'll be prepared to have to go through and really dig into it plus whatever fans have put together.
>>344775490
>some of the most retarded 'twists' I've seen in any medium
The twist with the different wards was what got me
Like it was pretty crazy to see the wall just collapse and go blank the first time but then what? It lets them get together at the end of the game, I guess. And it got pretty weird when they were all arguing over which ward they were in. But for all intents and purposes it showed up too late in the story to really do anything and they never went to any of the other rooms except the Quantum Computer Dome (seriously use the pantry Sigma and Diana you dumb fucks you literally spend 45 years preparing to take information from other timelines and you can't even grab a fucking map)
>>344775712

No, Sean was just a very gifted young kid that Delta took an interest in. I think it was implied somewhere that since Brother could read minds he was fond of children because they weren't old enough to be corrupted yet or something like that. Sean seemed exceptionally sweet and well-meaning so building a robot after him was probably Delta's way of paying tribute and giving him another chance (but apparently mind hacking the snail was too much).

Yeah, they were good. Eric's seiyuu was Akira Ishida. I enjoy his work.
Wait a minute. I just remembered. What happened to Chris ? Did Eric murder him, his father ? Did Eric bury him or what ?
Am I the only one who thinks 999 not having a flowchart was actually good in some ways? In VLR when I picked a door to go through it didn't have as much impact, because I knew I could just warp back to that decision tree and choose again any time I wanted.
However, in 999, when I chose a door it really felt permenant, like it does for the characters in the game. For example, when I chose Door 3 for the first time I freaked out and felt the weight of the decision I had just made and knew I was going to carry it with me until the end. This was also on my first playthough so I didn't know the doors all lead back to the same place and I would meet up with everyone else again. Moments like that really make 999 stand out in the series for me.

It's a balance. Your choices in VLR, even if they weren't necessarily permanent, still affected your upcoming hours of gameplay for that one linear route. Picked Betray at the first AB game? You're stuck with the decision for the rest of the route. It made them impactful because it dedicated your course through the game. And while the timeline system certainly made the choices in VLR somewhat less impactful than 999, it's worthy trade off for not having to replay the entire game multiple times.
In ZTD, your decisions have little weight because you don't get to see the immediate results. Your choices are scrambled together and thrown up at random, and even when you do get to see them they affects are only apparent for hour chunks of gameplay thanks to the fragment system. Another aspect about ZTD is that you make all the choices in the game. In VLR, you were competing against 8 other people in the AB game, who made their own independent choices. In ZTD, you make the choices for all 3 teams, removing a lot of the tension involved.

I want to marry Carlos's sister. I bet she's hot as fuck, and having Carlos as my brother-in-law would be the best thing ever.
If Delta was just trying to make sure he was born couldn't he had just put Sigma and Diana under some machine guns and say "You have 30 minutes to fuck this woman or you're ass is swiss cheese"?
How was he even aware of who his father and mother were if he can't shift?
Is this the best line in the series?
>>344787482
I finally found a 2ndsort oflewd pic of Carlos and it's both not that well-drawn andhas to do with that awful force feeding kink
Ugh. Guess we're stuck with wet shirt Carlos forever. Could be worse, though.

Force Quit Delta infodumped to Eric and Mira, who end up Transporting themselves to before 2011. He would have Mind Hacked them.

From the beginning
>>344788523
We really need a disclaimer for the OP
ZERO TIME DILEMMA IS THE THIRD GAME IN THE ZERO ESCAPE SERIES, IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE OTHER TWO THEN AKANE AND SIGMA ARE ZERO THANKS NOW FUCK OFF
>>344788660
Just asking a question of the fanbase. You never know with marketing blurbs these days.
>>344788710
Alrighty. Anyway to do that with only a PC?
I have a Vita too. It seems all 3 games are on different consoles. Can i emulate this shit?
>>344788778
Yes. That's pretty much all you need to know before playing ZTD.
I'm kinda tired of "Zero was the good guy all along!"
Gets stale after 3 games.
>>344788813
I know VLR and ZTD are on Vita, don't know about 999 but that can be emulated and it's getting a PC port soon.
>>344788813
999 is from DS, so emulate that.
VLR is on Vita too, and I think 3DS is getting an emulator soon? so It will be emulable.
ZTD is on PC too.
>>344788909
Akane wasn't the good guy tho.

>>344763926
Man that was such a great way to end the game.
Any books like zero escape? Like mystery and horror, maybe some scifi thrown in?
>>344788909
What would a good evil motive be? These games are too convoluted for their reason to be "I hate you guys and just wanted to murder", they need a reasoning behind why they had to be games specifically and it's usually to serve some larger purpose.
>>344788967
She was. She single-handedly killed off Cradle Pharmaceutical, saved herself and therefore essentially the world (if we consider ZTD's FANATIC meme to be canon)
>>344788967
Well she wasn't really bad either. I just want a Zero who is actually evil for once.
>>344788945
hows the ios version or should i avoid and emulate the DS?
>>344788523
Start with the first game in the series, Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (You don't have to play 2)
Next, you'll want to play Never7 (PC) which takes place after the events of DR, DR2 being a prequel which is why you don't have to play it. You can play Ever17 and Remember11 as well but they don't tie into Zero Escape and aren't particularly good either, especially when compared to N7.
Now you're ready to play Zero Time Dilemna. Chronologically, this takes place after Never7 so it should make sense from here on out. You can go back and play 999 next after ZTD if you want to learn more about Junpei and Akane, with the second Zero Escape game, Virtue's Last Reward, being completely skippable.
Have fun and enjoy the ride!
>>344789256
I have no idea, I only played the DS version.
>>344789151
How was Akane important to Delta's plans? Any shifter would do.
>>344789150
It works great in the first two games, but it would've been nice to subvert that by having a purely antagonistic Zero for ZTD instead of just having the same "greater good" purpose.
>>344789256
iOS version has no puzzles so I'd avoid it.
>>344789256
>>344789369
iOS version isn't even a game, it's a text recap of the game.
>>344788597
Who to commission? I wish I had some referrals but I really have none. In regards to "what"...
>Three canon couples makes for excellent cucking situations
>Phi is always good--maybe her fucking someone in front of Sigma? We already have plenty of explicit incest art of them
>Two Carloses is actually a thing--pair them with anyone for a good time
>Team C threesome
>>344789446
But that's what I'm saying, what would an antagonistic Zero have been if not "because fuck you guys"? Because that wouldn't be any more satisfying.
>>344789150
Brother/Delta could've easily been that villain. Being constantly forced to hear the ugly thoughts of humanity and the death of Left is enough. But instead it was all for the greater good.
I wouldn't be surprised if the terrorist he's after is actually secretly good and is hascomplex motives.
>>344789352
>Diana 6 billion

Also despite this guy pre-dating the release it's surprisingly accurate ,but for the button.
>>344764053
>her skin is chipping away
>just like how Luna died
>>344789621
Zero could've still been Brother, and he wants to release Radical-6 to cleanse the world. He could've used the morphogenetic field to see that Sigma and Phi were coming from the future to stop him from releasing Radical-6, so he makes the decision game to create a scenario where he can release it in every timeline.
This is just one possibility, but I'm sure they could've come up with other ways for Brother to be an enemy who believes releasing Radical-6 is good for humanity without making the decision game too contrived.
>>344771290
Wait what?
I just put them in alphabetical order based on what Mira called them.
>>344789675
So he would want to wipe out humanity because he's tired of hearing their thoughts? A gun in the mouth is a better solution than elaborate murder games.
>>344789621
Zero would hate SHIFTers because they're all cowards, leaving messes in their wake with every timeline they don't like for the rest of humanity to clean up.
>>344790231
He wants to help humanity evolve/free their souls.
>>344790010
The cleansing the world shit always stuck me as a super dumb reason to destroy humanity and he wasn't even cleansing it just reducing it and making it more miserable, not that what we didn't get was dumb but that really wouldn't have been any better.
>>344790482
>struck
>what we got
Fuck me, I can't type today.
>>344790010
That's a flimsy as fuck reason. To release R6 all he'd have to do is infect one random guy and dump him in a city. I doubt anyone would care about doing it in all the timelines since there's an infinite number so it's basically impossible. All the games have always emphasized creating one timeline that's the good one as the goal, so it follows that Brother would only care about getting one timeline where he genocides everyone successfully.
>>344789140

>>344789197But 999 Ace was evil and you played as Akane, sure he didnt call himself zero but he was the mastermind
>>344790804
I've been personally looking for stuff like that too but haven't really found anything quite like Zero Escape. I would recommend reading the Infinity series of VNs if you haven't already because that's pretty much exactly what you're looking for.
>>344790824
Nah, if I come into some money I might do something. I never commissioned shit before but I find the lack of good Zero Escape Porn criminal.
>>344791017
Dammit why was 999 so perfect while the other games lacked decent antagonists of any sort.
Dio just went through the same motions in every route and Mira was a one note murderer who gets magically redeemed.
>>344791121
There's also the VN Root Double which has a director from the Infinity series at the helm. Very similar to the Infinity series from what I've seen so far.
I really liked Sean and Carlos, I wish they could have been in a better game, or at least that the game had emphasized the characters as much as the previous ones.
>>344791147
That's great! Well, ideally we need some porn of ZTD as there's next to none.
What ideas/characters would you be willing to commission? I personally prefer Carlos or Phi, but I know there's a lot of interest in slutty Diana as well.
>Carlos is a young Delta sent to the future just like it happened to young Phi
>the entire game was awakening his SHIFTER ability since even not shifters can become shifters now
>everything was to create a Delta that has Mind Hack and Shifting abilities

Unrelated, but Steins;Gate and Danganronpa 2 are on sale on vita. Are they worth buying? I know nothing about S;G and I played the first DR and enjoyed it quite a bit.
>>344793225
Fantastic idea. I'll commission some.
>>344793267
Yes. S;G is a great VN. Personally liked it more than DR. Don't let "entry level lol" elitist VN fags tell you it's bad. They loved the game until it went mainstream
>>344793267
Pretty sure everything Danganronpa is garbage but your opinion already speaks for itself so why not buy it
Steins;Gate is mostly just a more otaku-centric but surprisingly less intelligent version of Zero Escape. Just without the actual escape part. or the zero part.
>implying kyle isn't gab who isn't the radical terrorist

>>344793225

>>344793267
They're both pretty great. Not the best place to ask about Danganronpa though because it's not as "mature" and is more "for weebs" than ZE, as if there's anything wrong with a more lighthearted story.
>>344793267
The S;G anime is one of the best VN adaptations out there but I'd say playing the VN offers a more full experience. I haven't played DR at all, but I've heard the anime is pretty trash so I'd definitely play the game if you're interested instead of watching the show.
>>344793554
Danganronpa and ZE are literally the same shit
>>344793852
Quotation marks are not needed, buddy.
Non-weebs would definitely not enjoy DR.
>>344793267
definitely play steins;gate but follow the flowchart on the wiki to ensure you get one ending your first time through (that is, get zero true ending flags)
don't use the wiki for anything else because it's spoilery bullshit that links to virus blogs
>>344793267
They're both worth playing. S;G is a great Visual novel with a solid story. Gotta love chuuni and reference to otaku/internet culture tho but it's great.
DR2 is a great sequel to DR1 and improves many many aspects. If you liked the tone of the first one ,you'll definitely like the second
>>344793909
The VN is much better tho. I was really surprised. I like how the phone is used and many girls' routes made them really likeable. Especially Fayris that went from worst to best girl in my case.
Suzuhara is just depressing and weird but awesome as well
>>344792360
I'm a drawfag who finished the game recently and I couldn't stop thinking about Diana's tits for like the latter half of the game so I'm probably gonna draw some lewd D.
I dunno if I'll draw lewd Phi. I like her but she's kind of entered the daughter zone yknow.
>>344794228
You must be a boring person if you can't enjoy something in fear of being labeled a weeb.
Danganronpa is fun. That's all that matters.
>>344794396
Phi is daughter zoned and presumably you wouldn't use Carlos for anything? Damn, looks like my >>344790824 idea will never work for you.
I'm fine with Diana, though, even if she's not my preferred character.
>>344794286
Yeah the multiple endings is what I meant when I said it's a more fill experience. Suzuha's in particular really surprised me and made me upset that it wasn't included in the anime.
So who do I ship Phi with now?
>>344795024
Carlos or Gab.
>>344795164
But I ship Carlos with his imouto.

So considering how old Phi used to work with the transporter and how Delta has the transporter, is it safe to say that Delta and old Phi are actually in cahoots?
>>344794763

Only a weeb would think so. DR overthe top characters and story are cringy as fuck.

>it was all a dream
shitty plot desu
>>344797000
Well, Carlos spent years honing his shifting abilities while Sigma built a sexbot.
I finished it last night. Seems like I was too slow and missed most of the memes and (You)'s.
What's the consensus? For me
+The cutscenes were great despite the cheap animation. I really enjoyed the different camera angles and character expressions.
+All the characters were likable in some way. No Alice's in sight.
+Especially Carlos. Holy shit I love that guy.
+For a game that makes everyone playing it constantly guess what kind of twist is going to happen, it did a good job of creating a setting where literally anything could happen before the twist reveals itself.
-The fragment structure gave me some serious diminishing returns at the beginning. Long puzzle rooms with not much reward for it until a certain point. Felt the pacing was bad because of always getting cut off by Zero's sleep drug.
-I personally got tired by most of the puzzle rooms. I found them tedious and the character interaction during these rooms were much poorer than VLR/999
-Why the hell is this game trying to shove this morality of "Swapping consciousness means the other 'you' will die instead!" down my throat? This was hardly an issue in VLR or most of this game.
-The ending itself was a little too cheesy. I think of the true end as the meme, mindhack end.
Overall a fun ride. Glad Carlos saved it and the Phi/Delta subplot was better than the Zero/Q reveal.
Can you guys post more memes please?
>>344796371
I know it wasn't your point but
>All the people complaining that everyone can SHIFT all of a sudden at the end
It's like they didn't even play 999 or VLR. The entire point of two out of three previous nonary games was to avaken psychic powers precisely by grouping a bunch of people together because the powers amplify eachother in proximity, possibly granting anyone a share of the magic.

>>344797730
That was a free shrug on my part. I was like, "Yeah, okay."
The series has espers, androids, and time travel. I'd rather they don't try to explain how aliens conveniently left a time clone transporter. At least it made the moment where Sean created a virtual self with a happy life hit much harder because it was comparable to the real Sigma and Diana starving to death with their newborn twins while one of their time clones were off complaining about how life is unfair.

Did you even played 999 or are you baiting?
Was anyone expecting more to come out of the memory loss, isolation, and probability decisions? I felt like everything was building it up to the reveal that the cast was being used in Schrodinger's Cat experiments. Like Zero was testing his ability to mess with who's living and dying solely by messing with the time on the watches and the announcements that reveal the deaths.
>>344800530
The watches were pretty disappointing this time around desu
>>344800530
Yeah, I'm still not sure what the point of the memory loss was besides making it harder to plan an escape.
Why was phi able to mega jump in the true end? I thought she could only do it in vlr due to moon gravity.
Also 100% cutscenes with no text boxes were a mistake
>>344801243
Makes it harder to tell the order of events and if characters are feeling memories from the current timeline or from another timeline.
>>344800530
Yeah, I agree. It had the typical build up with long techno-babble talks, but most of them never really amounted to anything other than a tangibly related concept. For example, the Sleeping Beauty Paradox is really interesting and I thought for sure it was related to the reason behind the fragment system and memory loss. But in the end, it never amounted to anything. Compare that to the stuff about Schrödinger's Cat in VLR and how that was fundamentally related to the overall plot.
>>344801487
No tits to weigh her down.
>>344801650
But is there a point to that?
>>344801796
The sleeping beauty paradox was just thrown in there. Kind of disappointing.
>>344801796
But they went overboard with the Schrodinger's Cat stuff in VLR. Was it ever explained how Alice and Clover returned to their original time?
>>344801830
The point was to make it possible to insert pretty much anything the writer could between the time they voted and the time they woke up in the fragment you chose. Every time a character would mention that they could've woken up several times before now, I would know that a lot of secret shit happened and I'd find out later.
>>344797171
Holy shit we have pretty much the exact same opinions, except I still enjoyed the puzzle rooms. Have a reward for good taste.
>>344802339
>Was it ever explained how Alice and Clover returned to their original time?
It ZTD's job to explain that, not VLR's.
>>344802339
>>344802441
The ending with K and ? in VLR might as well be non-canon now just because most of it gets brushed off in ZTD.
>>344802339
>Was it ever explained how Alice and Clover returned to their original time?
Ebin Uchi's tweest aheadthey didn't.
>>344802441
In hindsight, it was really fucking dumb to even even ask that question only to answer it with a non-answer which made fans hope for a real answer in the next game.
VLR should've explained it. ZTD should've remembered it. Maybe it should never have been asked in the first place. Could've had them go "Oh well, we're stuck here."
>>344802339
It was clearly foreshadowing for the alien transporter which maybe wasn't alien at all at the time but who knows, after all that's how that Akane even exist in that timeline to begin with
>>344802997
No it fucking wasn't foreshadowing that
Uchikoshi pulled that out of his ass when he started having issues
>>344802997
>Akane hosts yet another death game just so 2 hos can learn to shift
But Delta is the fucking bad guy.
>>344802832
It was reasonable to ask that question assuming it would be answered in the third game. Problem is Uhci fucked it and didn't even mention it.
>>344802997
It wasn't foreshadowing the transporter. Alice and Clover's entire problem was that their current consciousnesses were stuck in the shitty VLR timeline, they wanted to transport their current consciousnesses back before they were kidnapped by Akane. The transporter doesn't solve the issues because their consciousnesses would still be stuck in the VLR timeline.

That was the true VLR timeline, and she knew that, so she had to go on and work with Sigma to create the AB game, or else that future would never happen, or else it would create a paradox, and that other timeline would probably cease to exist or something.
>>344803626
1. One of the first examples of epigenetics found involve starving mothers in a famine and how it affected the lives of children born after. Maybe Delta unbelievably long life is thanks to having starving parents.
2. There was an entire pantry filled with frozen potatoes that they never found. It's not Delta's fault that Sigma and Diana were too dumb to find it.

Me. I didn't even notice that they called him by his real name because I was too shocked at why he just shot at the camera, why there was an old man's voice talking, and why the characters seemed entirely aware of its presence like it was normal.

What the hell

If he had Eric shoot himself in front of the others like he did on the other timeline it wouldn't have been this lame. He could always kill himself next.

time to shift

How can you do that if first you have to know Delta's name?
>>344806280
After inputting "Delta" in the "Who killed Mira standoff" and getting close to nothing, I didn't think of doing it until the Q reveal. My thinking was "I can't shoot Zero/Delta, he's not even in the room."

I knew delta was a super secret character, but I didn't know who he exactly was. So I put his name in as a joke during the three way face off scene and when the game actually accepted it I almost had a heart attack.

I was stuck at the part where Q tries to take his helmet off to show Eric his not-head. I couldn't for the life of me find the fragment where you discover the helmet code but I knew Zero was Delta because I saw the scene where Zero tells Akane and Junpei that he was born there and has a sister. So I saw that the 3-way standoff still had one ending missing, I put in Zero's real name and that shit happened.
Made me mad when I found out that I missed a voting execution and that's what caused a fragment to be locked. I hate looking up shit online, but I would've likely never found what to do.

You always win the first time.

The way you had to keep doing the votes to unlock them all was weird. After you do it once it looks like all the paths from them are done and there's no need to revisit them.
