I started a game in Skyrim where I never level up, loot corpses, craft or steal, and I can only take items inside treasure chests or buy them.
It's working so far. Falmer/Forsworn gear has a meaning, I spend more time fighting/exploring than in inventories and menus, and the game is less piss-easy.

Seems to me that you have no idea how the game works, Who ever told you that blocking saves you from everything? And who ever said that Trolls are easy to take down on low levels? These things fucking regenerate health, so you either have to use a spell or a weapon with fire damage which is their weakness by the way which im sure you're unfamiliar with this information, or sure just take your time with it until it overwhelms you. I passionately HATE all these people who cant play a damn game because everything scales to you, i mean hell, this is how must games work since ever, but when Oblivion does it is somehow shit? I've been playing the game for years and if anything i find the leveling and combat mods completely pointless, the game is perfectly playable with no such mods, I've tried many builds and i had no issues with any of them, you can be a tanky fighter and be more durable to enemy attacks, a stealthy archer like in them memes, or a powerful wizard who can one-shot everything. Ugh, i just wish people played the game instead of complaining and turn it into a modding showcase program.

I will go over it again, just to explain to you why you should be euthanized.
A level 80 character will have an easier time killing a Deathclaw, since it's not scaled. Than it will have killing an Ogre at level 80.
Even if you're level 1 and meet a level 1 Ogre you will get your shit smacked because they still have higher health and damage than you.
That health and damage scales up to level 80 or whatever and makes them just about as hard to kill as a level one, which is still hard, but it's still harder than killing a deathclaw at level 80.

Well, im certainly serious about it. Sure, the game has its difficulty sometimes but that doesnt mean its unplayable or that the system is flawed. The same is said for morrowind's combat, as long as you know what you're doing, you gonna progress through the game just fine, so no mods are required. The game never has the upper hand, if anything it actually helps you by getting all these enchanted weapons and better armor without spending a single gold coin.

From a gameplay point, it turns regular enemies into damage sponges. Deadric armor had an exclusive precedent and that's shat on in the last two games.
It's "understandable" for a bunch of looters to have Daedric armor after the Oblivion crisis but it's not optimal, because no Glass and Ebony have no place in the hierarchy and all other armor loses its worth.

I just got given in-universe rationalizations for the fucked leveling, but now I'm getting, "it's just a game, mang".
That's not really important, though. What I'm trying to say is that Oblivion had some bad leveling that required you to play in a weird way if you wanted to roleplay without the game overtaking you.
