It's pretty damn neat. Not amazing, not bad, but neat. Storyline is pretty damn short unless you murderize everything, but it's a game you can easily finish in a night if you so desire to. Story is kind of nice, but there's a decent chunk of memes, the homosex, and furry shit which will piss off 95% of T/v/mblr. If you are interested in it, play the demo and see how you like it. If it rubs you the right way, you'll like the full game.

It's good but not spectacular. Mechanics-lite, more about figuring out what it wants you to do based on the context clues presented than any kind of mechanical skill. Story-heavy, with a few characters that are annoying but many which are charming and/or funny. It also utilizes the media of games better than a lot of AAA titles - nothing groundbreaking but there's some clever 4th wall stuff. The music is god-tier.

It's pretty good. Some of the jokes get run into the ground, the story is pretty predictable at times, and the pixel art is trash in some areas. Despite all that the story/characters can be charming as hell, the music is fantastic, some of the jokes actually made me laugh, and the gameplay does some interesting things.
If you haven't been spoiled on everything and like story-heavy games then sure, it's cheap so just try it or pirate it. Fair warning though, it's probably best to either play full pacifist or genocide. There are neutral endings, but you get the same shit you'd get in a neutral ending almost entirely from pacifist as well as the pacifist content. And genocide has two really good boss fights, though it's clearly unfinished in spots.

It's good, characters are mostly good and funny (except for certain weeaboo lizard), music is amazing, gameplay is... meh, shit was pretty boring since I have some experience with Touhou, so the whole dodging bullets was way too easy and boring, I liked it when boss battles would change how the fights worked since that made them bearable, story is predictable but it works fine.
Don't let an autistic fanbase dictate what games are worth checking out or not, that's fucking stupid.

As soon as I saw that Toby was the one that made the game I just instantly looked for a torrent, the guy is amazing at making music, and I almost exploded with hype when Mettaton's true form appeared because I was expecting Megalovania from the guitar in the intro, was kind of disappointing when it didn't play there, but Death by Glamour is fucking amazing.

I meant on the chiptune side of things. 150 BPM was a tempo forced on a lot of game composers back in the day because real chip music can only play in a narrow grid of tempos defined by the framerate. Rarely does 150 BPM show up in other styles of music, but it shows up in a lot of Undertale songs, like Death by Glamour, CORE, Bonetrousle, etc.

It's really great, but you don't get the best of it until you do more than one run. Easiest way to see most of it is to do a pacifist run the first time, so you get the neutral ending and then you can reload to do the pacifist ending without starting all over again.

Imagine a JRPG for people who hate everything that sucks about JRPGs. There's no need to grind, combat is more than mashing the A button until you need to put out the fire from an exploding tree, it doesn't wear out its welcome with an obscene runtime, there's no love interest attracted to the protagonist for no particularly good reasondamn you Papyrus for turning down my advances ;_;, the story stays simple without pulling some retarded "You were a ghost/robot/memory/amnesiac prince the whole time!" bullshit, and so on.
It plays to the strengths of its genre while avoiding its weaknesses, and the secrets and deconstructive aspects make it worth at least a second playthrough.

The characters are memorable, the music is amazing (seriously, congrats to Toby Fox for doing it all solo), and in general leaves you with a big dumb grin 1 moment and can get into feels territory the next.
However...
There are 2 major flaws. The first is that the combat system is garbage. They way it's set up on the keyboard instead of the traditional WASD setup is a pain in the dick and can lead to bullshit in the future. Not to mention the few bosses have a huge difficulty spike and unless you come properly equipped, you're gonna get fucked a good amount of times until you understand the patterns.
The second thing is that while I would highly recommend not spoiling anything at all, even if you're just THINKING about playing, the only real way to get anything out of the characters is to go on full pacifist run. Even then, you cannot complete that until you do a neutral end first. That works by completing the game without killing anything and having to do some back tracking. [spoilers] Had to walk from the outside of the final fight with Asgore to the MTT bridge to get the phone call from Undyne so I could set up the date with Alphys[/spoiler].
Otherwise, beyond those 2 issues, I highly recommend it. just stay away from its fandom or the nu/v/ sperg-lords who say it's shit

I always feel like I feel into some parallel universe when Toby's music is mentioned. His music doesn't jive with me on a mechanical level. It falls under the extremes of discordant fast-paced vaguely-melodic schlock that sounds like Toby thinks that synthesizers can emulate the spontaneity of actual instrumentation (Enemy Approaching, Heartache, Dating Start!, Can You Really Call This a Hotel...), or slow piano-based instrumental pieces that try too hard to generate an emotional response through abnormal chords (Snowdin Town, Once Upon a Time, Confession). He's fine when he cuts the shit and sticks to an actual basic melody (Ghost Song, Megalovania), but the praise he gets for his music is frankly overblown.
Fuck you for making me re-listen to the OST so my opinion can be validated. Every time I hear the soundtrack get described as "god-tier" or "incredible", I think I missed something and re-listen to the fucker. And every single time, I only tolerate a handful of the tracks. Starbound has the same exact issue, and that also happens to have Homestuck alumni doing its music. Homestuck kills musical talent, and I hope anybody who worked on music for that comic re-learns how to compose music in their own fashion.

A lot of the themes are based on specific pieces of music from older games, which creates an instant nostalgic reaction for a lot of people.
However you missed something, the great thing about Undertale soundtrack is its use of leitmotifs, it has some of the best sound design in any game that I have played.
