I'm curious, does anyone know what the dev's inspiration was for each character's outfit? I always thought they were so creative and stylish. It feels like EYE's design has more uniqueness than most triple-A games, I've never seen uniforms like theirs, each one has a different mask as well.

This game is absolute garbage once you start getting actually into how research works and how much of a grind it is unless you play custom maps that give you a million brouzoufs a second. The rpg mechanics are absolutely awful and the only reason /v/ likes this game is because the legs meme and brouzoufs!~!!!!! XD. Seriously don't fall for it, I put in about 100 hours and I can safely say that this is the most awful game you could ever play, story is awful and the dialogue is littered with spelling errors. 90% of the people in this thread have only played it for 2 hours max or else this game would get universally shit on as being a complete mediocrity.

Go to the level I'm talking about, there's probably still a server for it, it's a chapel where you press a console a demons spawn and you just kill them and they don't move, and then research plans drop out of a chute once you are done, then just repeat till you literally have all of them. Beats grinding out those last research trees that have a less than 1% drop to them, just to pad out and hid how simplistic the game is. It's just completely obtuse.

How do I get into E.Y.E?
I love Deus Ex, heard this was similar, I tried playing it once and enemies could spot me from huge distances. I found myself fighting against enemies from like across the map, which turned out to be boring. It just wasn't clicking for me. What am I missing?

Don't compare it to Deus Ex. It's similar in that they are both first person, and cyberpunk. There are a few more similarities, but not a lot. Sneaking isn't really an option. You can cloak and lose the enemies for a while, but for the most part it's a case of "if you can see them, they can see you".

But, Deus Ex wasn't universally acclaimed because of it's top-notch stealth. EYE is more fun when played as a ludicrous cuhrayzee game.
The cyberpunk aesthetic and ability to build your character however you want are what garners EYE it's comparisons to Deus Ex.

Last time I played it, I had a mission where I was working undercover for some guy, and I had to do a couple tasks for him before poisoning his water or something and then killing him.
One of those tasks was to defend some science guy from literally 7 trillion mutant crab things.
Anyone know what I'm talking about? It was like the second or third mission. I have no idea what is coming up after.

Bring a couple sentry turrets with you, and drag along an additional hacked one if you want. Put one at the end of each hallway, and hang out by the guy you need to protect. I recommend using the 32 round shotgun.

I remember the first time I beat EYE. I had a few fatal wounds and read about how people had literally gimped their characters by like 40 skill levels because they had so many fatal wounds. I've got the laser, forcefield and the armor plating but they're still pretty subpar; often spawning with smaller sidearms and making little to no use of their lasers. Ordering them seems to have varying effects based on the map geometry, for example keeping them under the follow command makes them sluggish with no spatial awareness. Whereas hunt gets shit done but of course they wander off on their own and often into mobs to get royally violated.

Every now and again I tell this story in the EYE threads. And while I wish I had proof, I don't. I read this years ago from a french interview.
The maps in EYE are pretty vast an awesome. Especially for the source engine. The map dev would apparently just get stoned and make the maps so large that the map alone would cause source to crash. So, when it came to testing, he would trim the fat from the map, making sure it was still large and stable. That's why they are so fucking huge, the dev just loved making maps.
Hopefully, that same aspect in in Deathwing. From the gameplay videos, I see large maps. HUGE maps. And it looks like alot of love was put into the environment.
