I don't know. I guess it makes sense. He's 'part animal' so he acts out rashly. But he's also thousands of years old and a higher form of life, so you'd think he would spend a few decades learning to control himself so he couldn't be manipulated so easily.

I liked the idea that he had a grotesque true form and the human form was just a mask, but that was a really underwhelming design. Nothing particularly original about it.
