What are some games with good/unique/or just plain weird enemy designs? Any genre will do.

I love that this boss shoots hornets, you would probably never notice while actually playing

Zeno Clash was awesome.

>It looks like the more masks they wear, the more powerful they are!
>Fucker wearing twenty masks shows up immediately after they say this

It's amazing how most of the stuff that appeared nonsensical in the first game actually got an explanation in the sequel.
>>
>>344659309
the sequel worth picking up? I felt like the first game was the perfect amount of content and any more would only start dragging on
>>

The sequel is longer than the first, and they tried to include some rpg mechanics with it. It feels like they were going for an open world rpg but didn't quite give it enough content for that. It's still pretty good though, it gets even more surreal than the first game and there's some interesting stuff happening in the story, if you care about that.

Zeno Clash 3 when?

I loved the shit out of it.
It's semi-open world now (basically a bunch of areas that are connected through large gates) with some quests you can do and skill points that you can earn.

The main issues that people have with it is the low FOV and that the friendly AI of your summoned companions is braindead while playing it with a friend makes the game too easy.
Summoning them also only works in story battles and not in fights that just happen along the way.
You're also able to get a certain optional sub-weapon early on that makes the combat almost trivial and there is no real penalty for dying.

One thing that bothered me the most was the switch from Source to UE3.
I dunno but it looks so... off compared to the original.
Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look bad at all but it lacks that "clay puppets in a world made of putty and shit" feel and instead has the UE3-typical plastic look to it.
ACE Team also included some of the worst parallax mapping I've ever seen, like holy fuck, this definitely isn't The Talos Principle.

Interestingly, the first concept for Zeno Clash, Zenozoik: Shattered Land , was supposed to be a full fledged Action RPG:

It's so weird to see the early version of Zeno Clash. It kind of reminds me of the old Elder Scrolls games.

Yeah, the game came a surprisingly long way.

Anyway, back on topic with some The Void.

>bloodletter description
>This is the only effective means of expelling tainted blood, or so Brador, isolated in his cell, continued to believe."
>tainted blood means you've been infected with vermin
>the only way of expelling vermin is by ripping yourself open with the BL
>the Bloodletting Beast has a torn back from using the bloodletter
>those aren't hornets, they're vermin.

I always liked Warframe's enemy designs. They range from normal to completely outlandish, some of them look stupid but others look pretty good.

The Grineer are crude and industrial themed, but some designs still incorporate organic-looking shapes into the machinery.
