For RTS I'd like to say Warcraft 3 but maybe something like C&C might be easier. Really no "easy" entry points here.

A 2D C&C game because those are classic. Then I guess Wargame because I like that game.

planetary annihilation is a pretty easy rts to get into. There's only like 3 units per tier and it's all about macroing. They were giving it out for free a couple months back if you joined some bundlejew site

I'd recommend starting with Heroes III. It's still a very playable game by today's standards.
