I got Edge of Space, and it just seems so much more clunky than Terraria, and the starting tools are super inefficient. It seems as if I'd be doing so much more, exploring the biomes of Terraria for chests and cave openings, etc.

Seconding Comfy Truck sim 2. I picked it up for super cheap and the developers let you download the full game for free.

Euro Truck Sim 2 is the comfiest game of all time. There's not even any need for any outside stimuli, audiobooks or anything. Just listen to real live radio from anywhere in Europe.
I favour the 80's channels and night-time driving, personally.

This game is not fucking comfy. I mean it is comfy. Until you jump into a system too damn close to a star and its huge and its scary as fuck looking. Or when you are on the dark side of a planet and you are too close and its nothing but a big black blob on your screen. This game scares me more than any other game I've played.
