80% of meele skill is not strategical but rather executional. The game doesn't take as much thought as it takes hands. You have to do 4 actions that for any other well designed game could be done in one.

My question is more about the first shine, shoulda been more clear.
Say I'm running and go for the waveshine, is doing that first shine without jump cancelling it first will kill my momentum and make the subsequent shines harder? I also remember one of my less competitive friends sending my a video about waveshines and in the steps said you had to jump cancel the first shine but never gave a good reason why.
