There's an english PC release of Corpse Party now. It isn't fully voiced and the art is pretty poor (although it has a kind of charm to it, the guy is clearly not a professional) but it has an extra chapter and it's still spooky as fuck.
Alternativley you could probably emulate the superior in pretty much every way PSP version on PPSSPP on a pretty old PC.

Cry of Fear is standalone now, but be warned, it's extremely unfair in many ways
The game in terms of Level design is someone similar to the silent hill games in doors and mostly just a linear horror shooter but they decided to give the game Resident evil's inventory system when the game IS NOT designed to be like resident evil at all.
There's no map which really pissed me off during some bits because it tries to be like silent hill sometimes where the in door sections look the same and you have to check which doors don't and do open which in silent hill the map was great for this since it shows you all of this where as in Cry of fear it does none of this since there is no map.
There are also problems due to the engine as well such as the melee combat and the platforming, but sadly melee combat is forced and there's a higher enemy count to ammo count and the game likes to place you in small areas with a few enemies, and the story is complete crap and the voice acting is terrible.

Just completely fuck Cry of Fear. I was giving it a shot at the beginning with one of my piece of shit friends, and we were going through the intro bit taking pictures and figuring out the mechanics. We got to the hallway that's just so incredibly obviously a jumpscare, and my friend said "Don't worry, the game doesn't scream at you." I believed him. Literally not half a second later, the jumpscare happens and I fucking scream.

This is accurate. I got about halfway through myself. You have to be so conservative with ammo that some parts become nearly impossible if you aren't careful.
That said, it is still scary as fuck. The enemy designs are particularly terrifying, and the pacing is solid. The story and voice acting, though, feel like a high school student did them.
If it were JUST the broken level design, or JUST the bad story/voice acting, you might be able to push through to experience the scares. But both of them together don't justify the effort.
Propably isn't as strictly horror game as many of the posted, but still manages to spook the hell out of me.

LOVED Unterwegs in Düsterburg. It is the game which brought me into the classic RPG Genre, only ever played the original FF games, Chrono Trigger etc after UiD.

I'm actually watching some videos now and it looks pretty good. The models aren't as bad as I thought they were. I thought they were a LOT worse for some reason but they are fine. The atmosphere and the sound design seem to be pretty good too. I'll definitely give it a go now that I've actually seen some gameplay. Hopefully it will deliver since I've had the urge to play a horror game for a while now and the last one I played was Call of Cthulhu a few years ago.
