Engi and Medic are the "worst" classes to play in TF2, since they rely on your team not being complete ass. But the most underpowered one is Pyro by far.

Soldier has been nerfed almost every single update there ever was in TF2, with the exception of one (air strike buff). I could almost understand it about Demoman, because he's only ever been nerfed once (I say once because the dozens of attempts to balance stickie bombs only ever actually nerfed them slightly a year or two ago), and his fans are the real complainers on any official valve forum you visit. That said, that's not the reason Valve doesn't nerf Demoman, the reason is because Robin Walker's favorite class is Demoman and he refuses to allow it to be nerfed beyond a point where he can team wipe.

Only pyro is a joke-pick in comp 6v6. The rest are the good classes or the pick-classes. Engineer is a not that often picked pick-class.

spy got buffed recently and can catch up to medics much more easily now without badcore tier cutting corners, the tier list goes like so:

both classes dominate their respective comp metas, 6s and HL.
scout is the best DM and capping class, sniper is the best pick class who can singlehandedly win a game if the skill level is high enough

your team will have no chance of winning without him (but he's useless alone)

demo is a bit stronger than soldier, but has a counter in the form of scout
>heavy=engineer
both powerful defensive classes with unlocks available that make them situationally OP, but still kinda weak in general and on offense

useful pick class but relies on enemy fucking up

only thing it does that another class can't do better is stalling ubercharges
