Pretty sure he says it correctly though.
ZTD had an awful mistake if I recall in both the text and VA. It's during the route wherePhi is in the incinerator and Sigma is strapped to the chair with the gun to his head. If you remember, the gun can be loaded with 6 cartridges. Three of them are blanks and the other three are real so he has a 50% chance of living. I'm pretty sure Zero says that Sigma has a 6 in 3 chance of living which is wrong. It should be 3 in 6. Such a trivial mistake.I hope I am remembering it wrong. It would be nice if someone can confirm me on this.
>>344490229

Tbh as much as ZTD was kind of a clusterfuck I'm more sad that Uchikoshi's wild ride is over. ZTD definitely has a lot of issues and isn't the conclusion I wanted but even if it was I'd still be sad I'll never get to see Luna and Snake and Phi ever again.
And for all of ZTD's fuckups it still had some great moments. I'm gonna miss Carlos and Sean and even fuckin Eric and Diana single-handedly ending the world and blowong up the shelter because she pushed a button that said DO NOT PUSH
The ride's over and I'm gonna miss it Anons

The Sean thing was super confusing too but what I got from it was that earlier in that route when he connected to the supercomputer and fuzzed out the camera and explained everything to Eric and Mira he told them his name and we just didn't see it
Nobody else in the shelter even knows Sean exists until then besides them
I bought VLR a month or so ago for 3DS but haven't played it yet, should I change it to the Vita version? Seems like ZTD's Vita version is clearly better, and 999 might get it's own Vita version too so everything on 1 platform would be neat. What do you guys think?
>>344490801
>Buy up abandoned areas in Detroit
>set up escape games there
>Kill(Read Rob) the ones who are voted out

>>344491896
>earlier in that route when he connected to the supercomputer and fuzzed out the camera and explained everything to Eric and Mira he told them his name
Doesn't explain how they know his name in all the other timelines. He probably told them before the very first vote. We just conveniently never see him do it,just like him asking Eric and Mira about old man Q.
So Eric is his own father and Mira kills her older self based on the epilogue files right?
>>344492039
Vita is fine, though I'd recommend steam more
>>344492039
Where 999 is being ported to isn't confirmed. PC seems likely but I don't think that it's official. Heard nothing about the Vita.
As for playing VLR on 3DS or Vita. That's your choice. 3DS version is nice with the dual screens but there is the rare glitch that can fuck up your game. The 3DS version of ZTD is like a step back.
>>344491896
He tells them as soon as they wake up for the vote, we just don't get to see it.
>>344492773

3DS
>dual screens
>a touchscreen/pen for precision
>you can actually take notes with the pen
>worst looking version by far
>sub 30 framerate
>terrible audio
>portable and comfy
Vita
>larger screen than the 3DS
>can't take notes with your fingers but you can take screenshots
>higher resolution
>30 fps and relatively stable
>touch screen smugggeees
>fingers+touchscreen+tiny objects = bombs exploding
>portable and comfy
PC
>best looking
>60fps
>best sound quality
>mouse>pen>fingers
>not portable or comfy
I got the Vita and the PC version and ended up completing it on the Vita because I could play it in bed or on the sofa. The lack of pen on the Vita really is a bummer with a lot of the puzzles.
>>344493480
Saving in the PEC or Crew Quarters corrupts your save.
Apparently it has a small chance to happen in any puzzle room, though.Worst I've gotten is my game crashing when I saved in the Archives.
>>344493480
don't save inside a puzzle room
>>344493624
>>344492039
Disregard the part about PC, everything else is applicable though.
>>344493663
The game loves to crash in the PEC regardless. I even got a crash in the archives doing the dumb dice puzzle.
No corruptions though since I only saved outside of puzzle rooms
>>344493663
It happened to me and it happened to a lot of people because no-one is googling "Zero Escape" while playing the game or hanging out in threads due to spoilers. It could have easily happened to me this time around with ZTD if such a bug existed.
>>344493480
Just that. It is a glitch that isn't really well understood. It occurs most often in the PEC room during the escape portion. Basically the room is prone to crashing. If you happen to save and the game decides to crash, you're (only) save is fucked.
That said, I have played VLR twice and saved constantly everywhere. I have never had the glitch happen to me.
If you are paranoid, there are ways to protect yourself against the glitch. The easiest thing to do is to avoid saving in escape rooms. If you have a 3DS that can run CFW, someone made an app that automatically backs up your save for carts or digital. If you get corrupted, it's easy to restore your save. Pretty nice option.
>>344489721
>Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots?
Yes.
>>344493980
>It could have easily happened to me this time around with ZTD if such a bug existed
But with there are 3 saves in ZTD. If there was a bug, you can at least spread your save across the files. With VLR, that option doesn't exist within the game.
No bugs in ZTD that I know about though.
>>344493618
What is it with Japanese people and their absolute aversion to any sort of showing of affection on screen? I remember feeling the same when I played FF8 and got to the part where Squall almost kills himself to save Rinoa and basically realizes he loves her, then when they survive and get on the space station it's the same awkward juvenile "I d-don't really like you girls are icky."
>>344493663
>You will never pair up with K in the AB Game again

>>344493624

>>344491370

>>344496013
It took me three tries
>>344496013
It always gives you three 1s on the third try, sorry to burst your bubble.
>>344494202
You can backup saves even without CFW. There's an option in the settings.
>>344493624
Forgot that with Vita and 3ds you get a physical copy.
That's what clenched the vita version for me, needed to round out my physical collection.
>>344496607
Yes, true. That is a valid way of going about it.
However, the app makes it piss easy. Once it is installed, all you have to do is launch VLR for both backing up or restoring saves. It doesn't get easier than that.

Yeah, I've heard about that for the physical version of VLR. Looks like there exists at least 2 physical versions of the game out there for the 3DS.
Something like that would be piss easy to roll out in new physical versions since it's a pretty minor change. Still a shame they have no idea what the fuck causes it.
>>344499116I know people called the whole Papa Sigma and Mama Diana thing before release, but that whole sequence that lead up to the reveal was just heartbreaking.

So why was everyone cool with Mira in the end if they knew she was a psychotic killer from the memories of the other timelines?
>>344491896
>>344492256
It's not as confusing as it seems. When Sean and Zero are discussing who Sean was based on in the Reality fragment, the exact wording in response to "Who was he?" was "He was called Sean... The same name as you." We assumed he was learning that his name was Sean because we thought he was calling himself Q, but if you reread it, Zero is simply stating that the boy shared his name, which he already knew. Q team presumably knew his name was Sean from the beginning too.
>>344503034

Inside this spoiler there is a cat. Since you can't observe or measure it from the outside, it is both alive and dead at the same time. Ever17 spoilersWhen I started writing down all the X-passes I came across, I took note of Q's passes and actually thought at one point that Blick Winkel would be involved with Q's existence. Or a very similar thing to Blick Winkel at least. "EYE" (-I-), "SELF", "AGE" (wasn't as sure about this one), "BRO" (Onii-chan, as Coco calls him)... yea okay, this was never really going to be true, since the Infinity series is separate from Zero Escape in the end. My love for E17 is too strong.
Of course it doesn't help that ??? was dropped entirely. That just sucks.
>>344497965
Isn't he just saying it like '3 to 1 odds'?
I got extremely stuck at one point in the game and couldn't figure out how to unlock the next fragmentI thought I already tried letting the clock out when Eric wants to know who killed Mira
Was I the only one?

Clicked before reading. Cat is dead. I regret nothing.

>>344514454
Nope, got stuck on the same thing. Except I just assumed he would shoot you regardless if you didn't have an answer for him. I thought the game wanted you to figure out who killed Mira.

>think Delta is actually Eric so that Eric ends up being relevant to the plot
>get to the "WHO IS ZERO" question
>input "you"
>Eric freaks out and shoots people
>input "Delta", thinking it must want that specific name to make Eric reveal himself or that maybe he had memory loss from self-administered drugs
>Sean turns and points to the camera
>Eric remains just Eric
I had expectations
>>344490704
I did that one. Was good. Had some slight technical difficulties but a creative GM got us through that. Also my group caused everyone to die in the last 30 seconds.

It was fun seeing all the different dialogues Eric had though
I think that was when I clued in to there being 4 people on Q team
I know I'm asking for trouble here since I haven't finished the game, but when the fuck do I get any significant info about what's going on? At least in the previous games I felt like I was getting somewhere after doing a puzzle room. Here its like I'm plodding along, doing room after room and getting nowhere, plot-wise.

>>think Delta is actually Eric so that Eric ends up being relevant to the plot
Yup, thought the exact same thing after that fragment with Zero saying that he's dead in the current timeline (timeline where all of Q-team is dead). Thought Eric would be it, and that was an exciting idea actually. It fired me up. Didn't except it, and it would've made him a much more interesting character all of a sudden. I started thinking more about the backstory he told earlier.
But no. Got mindhacking old man with complex motives.
Black bar general and all but I'm barely starting the game kind of, maybe like 10 hours in doing C team stuff.
Can anyone explain why Junpei is so fucking cold and like almost seemingly nihilistic now?
He said he joined a detective agency, I read in one of those scenes but he also seems to harbor some animosity towards akane too?
What's going on, without too much spoilers please. Unless it is some huge twist, in that case nevermind, I'll carry along with highly uncharacteristic Junpei. it just fucks my mind that this is the same guy from 999??
So why didn't Sigma/Diana/Phi get an after story cinema?

>>344514454
I actually just answered 'dunno' on my first go. I was pretty impressed that it worked.
So why did zeroshoot Gab before the jump/don't jump scene? What was the point in that. He said he'd done two good things but I don't get the point of this as one of them.
>>344515874
Because he hasComplex motives
anyone else think that actually getting married in the end kinda ruined the significance of their story? I thought it worked best when they both had feelings for the other but due to the necessities of Akane's plans, they can never make it work. Compared to Tenmyouji quietly saying his Akane isn't anywhere, the scenes in ZTD just feel saccharine and ill-fitting.
>>344515637
iirc the end of 999 had Akane push him away and that hurt him. He's a bit bitter and the world hasn't treat him well. The same Jumpy is in there though, he'll peek through from time to time
>>344515952Complex motives
>>344515952

Things start escalating after Ambidex. But I had the same feelings when I was playing, the fragments + set separated teams was a bad idea overall because the characters didn't get much of a chance to develop and progress was constantly erased until they could find a way around it.

Another thing that takes on a different meaning in retrospect is Mira pointing her gun at Eric instead of Sean in the study. I thought it was weird that she was protecting him over someone she already had a relationship with but when you realize Sean isn't actually connected to the x-passes and killing him will gain her nothing then it makes a lot more sense. Although, it's still kind of weird she doesn't go for the deaf mute decrepit old man and even seems taken aback when you choose to kill him in Perceptive End but I guess even serial killers have standards.
Just go back in time and step on the fucking snail
i've been thinking about getting this canvas printed but i've never into art, would it look okay?

It lacked that big punch to wrap the whole series together, I was hoping for something to really drive the conclusion of the trilogy home. I was thinking since every other game is just about you acting out Zero's plans, this could be the one where you actually break free from the script. Like the final keikaku showdown between ageless timewizard Akane and MIND HACKER outrusing the master rusers Brother, but it just sorta ended with Delta revealing that he was VLRing everyone through the whole trilogy into tracking down one crazy kebab and everybody's sorta cool with it. Lacked the whole chess-game-through-SPACETIME angle they built up with Blick Winkel.
That said I loved the game, but after the scope of the plot grew with VLR it was disappointing to see it shrink for the series' conclusion.
>>344515952
GAB WASKYLE
What's the point of making Delta 124 years old? The transporter and the whole backstory was added in ZTD, so all the references to it are from ZTD, too.
All Uchi had to do was to say that the transporter was discovered in the 30s oder 40s.
COURAGE IS THE MAGIC TO MAKE DREAMS INTO REALITY
WE'LL SHAPE THIS FUTURE WITH OUR OWN HANDS
>>344522295
They sorta set it up with VLR what with the original Nonary games being associated with Free the Soul. Honestly they could've revealed Delta to be a Nazi trying to avenge his adopted brother Hitler and I would've been on board with it, just so his age is tied into the plot better.
>>344522295
Because muh CQD.
>>344521710
it's subjective. no matter if you're aware of it, you have different expectations when you look at 24" computer display or 3ds screen
Anyone know if there are any secrets behind the number codes used throughout the game? Like how VLR's bomb codes translated to stuff?
>>344522802
Well, it's said that the transporter was in german hand at that time, but this logic is the same. He could have just written that the transporter was discovered by americans and everything would be fine.

Went to a real life escape room with my friends today. Pretty easy after playing ZE. Friends were not that great at it, but we had some fun. One muppet spent fifteen minutes on a case even though they hade the right code, because they were pushing the latches up and down instead of to the sides.

>>344530847
Sure thing, but Kyle SHIFTing through time to become a computer program and losing his personality and his own memories and gaining some memories of Sean is retarded on so many levels that I think it's more likely that Kyle is Gab.

Why is Delta so different from the Zero that talked to Sean in the ending with the quantum computer?
It's like they were so focused on making Delta COMPLEX that they forgot to give him an actual character. He goes from trying to make the dreams of children come true to murdering dogs for no reason, and then he's setting up incredibly sadistic decision games just because it's "fascinating" and suddenly he just saved the world. What the fuck?
>>344532761
>make the dreams of children come true
Just the one. Delta was presumably in the hospital where Sean was for some reason and became enthralled with him, and through MIND HACKING found out that the fates of Sean, Mira, Eric, Akane, and Junpei were all radically altered by a snail.

Fuck. Is it possible to get excited for a game and have it deliver anymore? To its credit I still enjoyed ZTD overall and it's not as big of a fucking trainwreck as MGSV, but still it's underwhelming.

Well MGS was actually disappointing. ZTD was only disappointing if you had too high of expectations for it.
Some people seemed to decide what ZTD was going to be before it was even out. Perfect example, everyone assuming that Uchi saying he would mention the 999 characters if there was enough demand as "Snake and Aoi are gonna be main characters bro".
Sounds like a little of you getting hyped for games that aren't gonna be that good and also you having too high a expectations. You need to learn to expect the least, then everything remotely good exceeds your expectations slightly.

>>344542516
Uchikoshi blatantly said that ZTD would answer all the VLR questions. He also said that we would find out about what was going on with Snake.
It's not like the dropped plot points were the only problems, though. The quality of the game and the writing were pretty low overall.
>>344542516
I guess wanting a game to not drop plot lines or rewrite the big bad motivations equals having too high of expectations.
>>344542560
Yep it worked now, but i swear to god i did it before and nothing happened. I had every team voting for both options complete.
>>344542418
Have you finished the fragment where Eric wants to know who killed Mira?
>>344542637
VLR's 100% Epilogue, Kyle apparently swapped minds with an unknown being. I type it as [?] because that's what the game itself names it.
>>344542807
yeah but you had to actively select a team out, that's the difference.
Also, does that Latin shit Zero sometimes say have any meaning in game ?
>>344542516
This, the game is not the problem the audience is.
>>344542735
Actually that's not true. He said all that in the QA 4 years ago then much much more recently when asked about 999 characters in ZTD his exact words were "If there is enough demand" indicating that at most they would be mentioned, like they were.
Of course everyone clings to the QA from 4 years ago rather than the much more recent interview because.... UCHI LIED TO US BLARRRRR
No he didn't, you choose to use a QA done years ago when the game was essentially a different project.
>>344542784
When it gets cancelled and only brought back with a tiny budget due to fan demand, yes, it is. BUt also that didn't really happen. I assume you're talking about Brother? You have no indication anything was changed, especially since Phi was ALWAYS the same, Uchi hinted at her story back in VLR.
You stupidly assumed that a Akane and Alice has correct information on a dude who could read minds and manipulate timelines.
If you're mad that Delta's character had a stupidly complicated plan then fine but in reality that's the plot of every ZE. Someone has a stupid complicated plan that they endanger tons of people to enact.
>>344543142
>"If there is enough demand" indicating that at most they would be mentioned, like they were.
Snake wasn't mentioned at all

>>344542516
I had high expectations because the previous games were so fucking good, simple as that. I had no reason to suspect ZTD wouldn't be up to par.
Uchi outright said all the mysteries of VLR would be resolved in ZTD, even going as far to say questions like "What happened to Snake during the VLR timeline?" were going to be answered. I would have been fine with him going back on his word on stuff like the latter example, but he still set a precedent when he said "All mysteries from VLR will be resolved", where they weren't.
Instead we got completely dropped plotlines with Kyle, Left, Clover/Alive, ?, and a big bad whose entire character changed from the previous games. I even would have accepted the dropped plotlines if the rest of the game made up for it in quality, but we didn't. The writing is shoddy in some places, the gameplay structure itself is janky, the music is 70% reused tracks, the atmosphere doesn't come close to matching 999 or VLR's, and the switch to a cinematic style hurt the game over being a traditional VN. I'm not disappointed because ZTD isn't exactly what I wanted it to be, I'm disappointed because the game isn't as good as the first two.

>>344542373
I still don't get that. The timeline was fucked way before the 3 of them got there.
>>344543768
You mentioned the "if there is enough demand" stuff, which was part of the same time, years ago, not anything recent. I don't think there was any indication that Uchikoshi was listening to fan demand once ZTD was actually under way. The point is that Uchikoshi made these big declarations and never gave made any statements that he was going back on them before people bought the game.
The claims that ZTD would resolve all of VLR's mysteries, though, continued all the way up until ZTD was ready to come out. Those can't be written off as old plans that changed.
>>344544131
Akane didn't pick up on the nature of the Transporter yet, I think. Carlos stopping Zero would only leave him stranded in a set of timelines where the Decision Game never happened.
>>344544294
The only thing from VLR he didn't resolve was Kyle.
Get over it faggot. Uchi didn't betray you, he probably didn't even remember half the shit he said in that QA because he probably just answered based on how he saw the game in his head and that image probably changed over 4 years and a reduction in budget. Get over it dude, you gain nothing from holding a grudge against a guy you never met.
The game was good. It gave a great deal of resolution. The Kyle thing is really fucking dumb but you seriously need to calm down about it, it doesn't ruin the series or the game.
>>344543142
>>344543768
There's nothing wrong with holding Uchi accountable for statements he made in the Q&A, even if it was years ago. Those are statements that directly said stuff would be explained in the third game, but weren't. Fans are obviously going to question that.
>>344544039
Are you a fucking retard?
>Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward ended on a cliffhanger, but Uchikoshi assures that remaining questions from Virtue's Last Reward will be resolved. Also, "as a story [Zero Escape] will definitely end at Volume 3."
>"I intend to answer every mystery left during VLR and the mysteries in ZE3 would be solved as well. This game will not end in a cliffhanger."
http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/07/07/zero-escape-3-more-philosophical-than-past-volumes
Uchi outright said, in a recent interview, that ZTD would resolve all the questions from VLR. The dropped plotlines from VLR including Kyle, ?, and Left are inexcusable.
>Hey, what game is Snake from? I'm done talking to shit heads liek you. It's people like you who I am talking about.
I said before I was willing to forgive stuff like the Snake statement if the rest of the game was good. Unfortunately, it wasn't.
>>344544542

I liked the Always Sunny Carlos video and I want to see one with Diana talking about trying to save her friends/the other participants and then have "Diana Blows Up The Shelter" and/or "Diana Causes The Apocalypse"
>>344544971
Live round to blank is "3 to 3", aka 3:3 or 50% according to English grammar.
>>344544712
>I said before I was willing to forgive
and that's why you're retarded. You think there is somethign to forgive there, there isn't. It's your fault for makign assumptions. Really, what would Snake even add to the game? Nothing. You just want you animu boyfriend who's so super cool and takes a million bullets and doesn't give a fuck so hardcore man. There is nothing to forgive if you aren't a dumbass.
I agreed about Kyle. ? is in the game if it is Blick WInkel, people have already made theories regarding that and Delta. You can't say for sure that's not in the game. There is 0 indication that the story with Brother was ever changed. LIke I said, Phi was clearly always Sigma's daughter, Brother was clearly always intended to be his son. So what was changed? What did you think Left would have to do with?
Also I'm dying at "hold Uchi accountable". If he makes another game, you're gonna fucking buy it, you're posting about his games online. Who are you kidding?
>>344544953
You don't have to like it but I don't think "my favorite character wasn't in the game" is a valid criticism. I love how you complain about me "forcing" my opinions on people meanwhile you post just to say "You shouldn't get to post your opinion, here' s0 reasons why".

>>344545318
>>344545074
Wait, why don't you just use the scene with Diana and Phi on the platform where they try to argue with her about condemning the world?
>>344545318
I'll look for one. I know there's one when she fucks up everything where she says I'M GOING TO SAVE YOU AND PHI but idk if that's the best time for that since it's when she's already let the virus out.
I'll go rewatch the poison scene tho
I was going to do it with just a single panel of the DO NOT PRESS button and then a closeup of her face but I changed my mind after the Carlos one that shit was great
>>344545574
Maybe have it when she activates the switch after their arguing with her, segue to the title header "Diana causes the end of the world"
>>344545657
lmao that's good I think I'll use that
The other one would work better if I just took a video of like the last ten seconds of the button and then when there was like half a second left "Diana Blows Up The Shelter"
Thanks for helping me brainstorm these Anon idk if my movie editing skills are even powerful enough for this but I certainly hope so
I wonder why Uchi said Snake would be mentioned, we already knew everything we needed about Snake from VLR.
My only disappointments in terms of 999 character updates are Aoi and Clover. Aoi could have used a little more, and it would have been nice for Akane to acknowledge that she was unfreezing Clover, in an epilogue file even, but I guess that one is easy enough to speculate upon.
The whole Kyle thing and the handling of brother are my only real beefs in terms of dropped plots. I didn't really expect any more about the 999 characters than we ended up getting. Then again I just beat VLR right when this game came out and didn't read the Q&A, so I don't have the same perspective as those who waited three years.
>>344545175
Zero is trying to describe the probability that Sigma lives or dies. There are 6 rounds. 3 are live and 3 are blank. If fired randomly, the probability he lives or dies is
3 to 6 = 3:6 = 3/6 = 50%
since 3 rounds are live/fake and there is a total of 6 rounds.

re: everyone bitching about ZTD
The game is good and it does a reasonable job of capping off the series but after VLR built up the finale as much as it did it's hard not to be disappointed by a closer that's just "reasonable"
You can acknowledge that a game is good, maybe even great, while also acknowledging that it wasn't what you hoped it was and after seeing what Uchi could do it wasn't unreasonable to expect something a little less anticlimactic than Delta MGS2ing you

Even if you manage to ignore all of the dropped threads, bringing up a new big bad terrorist in the final entry of a series and then not even resolving it, along with being so fucking cheap that the epilogue you get for 100% completion is a goddamn file, make it complete shit as a conclusion.

Honestly ZTD is about the same level as VLR for me. The start was very slow but the twists and turns from middle towards the end were great and some of the dialogue was easily the most hilarious in the series.
I can understand being upset at the ending since this is the close to the whole trilogy but even then I don't think it was as bad as a lot of people want to make it out to be.
