Parrying timings were often weird and you'd get hit and miss the visceral attack opportunity. There were also a lot of "shockwaves" on bosses. Blood vials were an annoying change for the early game but less annoying as you could reliably farm them/mass amounts of blood echoes. The camera was easily the most annoying of all the games as it was constantly getting stuck on stuff for no reason. The bosses were also some of the easiest of the series. I'm a retard and even still no boss took me more than 3 tries. That's including Orphan.

I'm not sure how overleveled I was. I finished everything in the main game except gerhman around 70 or 75 and finished the DLC around 90

Nothing is perfect including BB. It has flaws but it is honesty one of the best video games of all time. There really is nothing like it, even Dark Souls doesn't compare. It is a piece of art and will be considered a classic in the future.

Solid 8.5 out of 10. Chalice dungeons felt like a chore and they stuck the best weapon augments in them so I didn't stick around and PVP for as long as I did with other souls games.

After 1998 I had only one favourite game and it was Metal Gear Solid. Last year Bloodborne came out and it was fucking unexpected experience.
I want to admit it: now my favourite game of all time is Bloodborne. It's pure art. I'm serious, I haven't played anything like this.

It's still better than most anything else but it has some weird flaws, many of which seem to be cascading design decisions where they wanted faster gameplay so enemies do more damage so you have health regen. but then bosses have to do even more damage than regular enemies and can one shot you. then to compensate bosses have more hesitant or sometimes passive attack patterns so you have time to heal or try to recover health. When you're good its far easier than the souls series to never take a hit or never take one you don't see coming.
Also too few weapons to choose from until late in the game unless you suicide run the expansion area.
Also bloodtinge and arcane are basically off limits for first playthrough since they need so much more metagaming for equipment location etc.
I didn't realise you could transform midway through attacking for a unique and quick method into the transformed weapon until I reached Old Yarnham.

It depends on the attack, some weapons have really fast transformations like saw cleaver and blades of mercy while others have super slow transformations like the burial blade

nah mate, atmosphere and writing are leagues ahead and still hold up, and whilst it's missing the quality of life improvements present in the later games its groundwork was revolutionary for the time, it's the Ur-Souls game.

Yea, it really is. And I picked it up on a whim is the crazy thing. I didn't follow project beast prior to release and I really just bought it as an afterthought since there were no other games for ps4. Now it's my favorite game of all time. It's crazy to think how close I was to missing out on it. I actually feel sorry for platform war faggots that will keep themselves from playing this game.
