When both the hunters suck and the monster suck, hunters win every time.
When both sides are decent, monster wins.
When both sides are actually good, it can go either way.
There is legitimately zero way to beat a well coordinated premade Hunter team who don't suck though. Zero.
The caveat to this is, If the monster is good but only 3 people on the Hunter team are good the Monster is going to stomp them because you can't carry a retard once the monster gets to stage 2. All in all it's surprisingly balanced for being so asymmetrical. Not perfect, but adequate.
Having a good time with it, definitely worth a play now it's gone free.
It's fucking impossible to play/win as Monster unless you're pro-tier or hunters are pure shit (the latter being quite likely right now). Also can't play stealthy as monster, and escaping/fleeing is tough too, for the hunters as well actually.
Aside from the game, the store and options are kinda shit but at least it's not too difficult to unlock stuff (borderline p2win with the perks though.)

Question though, what determines how long the arena stays up now? Sometimes it seems to stay up forever, other times it only lasts a few seconds even if the hunters don't get downed?
How am I supposed to stay alive as medic? The monster just pounds me, constantly, over and over like a fucktoy until I'm dead the second we lock it down. Even when jetpacking around, firing healing grenades at myself and using my healing burst, I'm almost always down by the time the arena is down. What do?

Abuse your Jetpack. The biggest advantage Hunters have over the monster in direct combat is that they can shoot while using their Jetpack to jump up on cliffs, but the Monster can't attack while it climbs. Go up, when the Monster followers, Jet to another elevated position, and so on. It also really helps if your team has a Support that isn't completely retarded. The support is meant to peel for you.

Is Bucket supposed to suck ass? His rocket launcher does like 40 dmg and has a slow ass rate of fire plus a long reload time. Meanwhile, the fucking Medic EMET shoots a barrage of rockets which all do 40 dmg plus his tracking darts which does an extra 25.

As a F2P game it's fun! unfortunately it has that same fading luster as Battlefront EA did. It's cool at first and you can't wait to see all the weapons and locations and play all the things.
And then you play all the things and there's nothing left. Each week they rotate 4 hunters and one monster and I think they rotate the maps as well. So unless you spend keys on hunters or monsters you're always confined to just 5 possible characters. Plus the one hunter and one monster you get from doing the tutorial.
In order to get new monsters and hunters and shit, you must play the game to get silver keys. Being a launch weekend, TRS has graciously given us double keys for the whole weekend! Unfortunately, double keys is still a measely rate of earning; when you completely dominate a game and bust out some crazy fucking stats for a twenty minute game, you'll get like, 100 keys, maybe 200 or 300 if you complete some challenges while in game (which, by the way, those challenges are ONE-TIME PAY-OUTS. If you get a bonus for winning 5 games in a row, then lose, you won't get another bonus for winning five gams in a row). Average Hunter is something like 5 or 6 grand, most expensive I think is 8000. Most expensive monster is 9000 I think. So to get the good hunters or the most OP monsters (more on that in a moment) you need to play a healthy number of games with the measely content you are given.
As for the monsters themselves. If you are pubbing, monster almost always wins. If you have a premade, hunters almost always win. There's no middle ground. Also, Gorgon, Kraken, and Wraith are practically guaranteed wins. The balance is totally fucked. The only fun games are against Goliaths.
Play it while the population is booming and while the novelty is still there, because it'll fade fast. For the moment, I am still having moderate amounts of fun.

I think he is meant to act like a 2nd Assault. His turrets can do good damage but its not reliable because the damage is position based. You also need to hit alot of your rockets on point to make it worth.
Whereas with, lets say hank, you can shield an assault to let him deal reliable damage or a healer so s/he can self-heal while shielded.
Bucket is pretty much redundant, which is unfortunate.

You were playing a shitty wraith; probably some new player that looked up "how to play Op monsters" on youtube and just used those two moves over and over because they lacked knowledge of how to actually play the game.
In truth, playing against wraith, just bend over. 99% you'll lose in the end, just get the game over with so you can move on. Her traverse rate is fucking ridiculous, her damage is fucking ridiculous, all of her abilities are absolute killers. She's just really fucking good, and she's been complained about since the game made retail release.
They still haven't been able to fix her to be fair, so take that as a hint of how good their balancing department is.

Wraith is most fun against bads, as soon as the planet scan wears off I double back behind them and abduct the slowest one. Half the time they die by the time the dome goes up. That said the game gets boring after 8 hours

Gorgon is another case of broken balance, which I think it's a by-product of their hunter rotation system. The free hunters for this week are just BAD against Gorgon, so Gorgon wrecks nearly all the time.
Her acid Spit and Web blast thing are the only two useful skills she has. The spider bomb thing is a nice distraction but it's not worth putting points into before you've maxed out acid spit and spider web thing.
The spit can down a hunter from full health stupidly fast. The web has a shitton of push back and a respectable amount of damage. And you're rate, her traversal is fucking insane. She covers more ground than the wraith, which means engagements happen when the Gorgon wants them to happen. If the gorgon player has even a modicum of intelligence, you won't catch her until she's level 3. If you're REALLY lucky, you'll force her into one engagement when she's level 2 then the dome drops and you won't see her again until she wants you to.
Kraken is fucked for the time being because the two assaults you have access to both have measely ranged options. Markov's AR only does 18 dmg per hit and Hyde's chaingun does like, 19 or something. So you're primary damage dealers are forced to use their worse weapons because the Krakan is in the air 99% of the time and nowhere near close enough for the flamethrower or electro-gun.
Not only that, but there's always the chance the free hunters for the week are just bad. Hank is absolutely awful, even moreso against a kraken because his orbital bombardment becomes useless. Hyde is basically a worse version of Markov. Caira's heal grenade launcher actually takes some amount of aiming skill to use, and runs out of utility quick unless your team is all bunched up, which they often aren't because it's a death sentence. And the Trapper for the week is only useful for his tracking darts. That's it. This week's hunters are garbage.

The skull that appears in place of their health when you down them is a second health bar. When it empties they die, when it fills get the back up. If they die they can respawn after 120 seconds.
As a Monster you want to down them then get them to 50% and leave them. That way it's hard for their teammates to get them up, and they can't respawn and fuck you.

Yes. Take speed or Traversal perks, be sanic. Bait them into doming you once you're ready to evolve to stage 2. Down a hunter then haul ass and evolve while the dome is on cooldown. Eat to full armor then fuck them up in stage 2, or repeat and go to stage 3.

Yeah, you're using the wrong perks. For Goliath, get the +Feeding Speed + Movement speed, then get the silver version of that perk, then get the Gold +15% movement speed perk. It totals to around 160% movement speed and +120% feeding speed, and this benefits your Leap, since Leap is based on momentum. You just RUN, no stealth, just be sanic.

Yes but not as much as the Goliath. Gorgon traverses fast enough by default, Kraken is better of with +traverse regen so it can fly longer, Wraith teleports so movement speed is pointless. Everyone being able to dome means that you can just gun right for the Medic instead of weighing your options in a confrontation and choosing to opt for the Trapper, who would originally put down the dome prior, instead. Mix that with how the dome only stays up for like a minute at that, and the armor regeneration being obscene, and really at the moment monsters have no real negatives.
