They're pretty cool. I still like the originals the most, but most of the time I still like the Steam ones more than the PS3 ones at the very least.
That said, you get both the originals and the Steam art with the Steam version and have the option to change them back and forth. Which is actually really cool and surprisingly great of them.
Clearly they recognize that the originals have great charm and that the original should be respected, and yet they made a whole new set of art for the release for those who don't like the admittedly very low quality assets of the original.
I respect it a lot.
Read the first episode and drop it. Leave the mysteries to your own interpretation. Well, not like you'll get a better explanation anyway.
