So /v/ I have been looking for a nice rpg lately but I couldn't find anything that I haven't played yet.
I want an rpg where stat allocation matters and if possible where choices have significant consequences.
The games I already played are:fallout new vegas, alpha protocol, baldurs gate 2, planescape torment, fallout 2,serpent in the staglands, witcher, witcher 2, vampire the masquerade bloodlines, pillars of eternity, mass effect, mass effect 2 and probably several others which I forgot now.
But I think I played most common rpgs so post some obscure and old ones if you want.

Thanks I'll add it to my list.

>>344406120
I tried it already.
It was really nice but way too hard, if you want to do combat you have to put everything in combat and if you want to do things outside of combat you have to put points into very specifiic skills or atleast thats how it felt to me.

Shadowrun Dragonfall & Hong Kong are pretty good, just stay away from Returns.

Grim Dawn OP, if you're into ARPGs.

Bought in the sale and loving it so far.

Just play The Witcher 3 and thank me later, goddamnit.
Only bad thing about that game was the absence of Iorveth, but Regis is there so it's ok.

I completed returns but dragonfall was way too long and got pretty boring in the midgame.
How is hong kong different from the other two ?

>>344406312
Eeh it was mainly hack and slash desu but thanks anyway.

>>344406375
I was actually pirating it but I stopped after /v/ started their shitpost trian when the game was just out. Is it really better than 1 and 2 ?

If you want just a game with good stat allocations then any Souls game. The builds you can come up with are pretty gud.

Shitpost is in fact shitpost and nothing more.
I liked TW2's story a little bit more, but TW3's writing is just as good.
Combat is decent, exploration is fun if you bother with it, secondary quests are all well voice acted, with good cinematics and a decent plot, main story is full of feels, lots of choices to make, 16 free DLCs and 2 major GOAT tier expansions.
So yeah, you listened to shitposters and missed out.

The main quests are quite intricate as Witcher 2. It's mainly just find people and fight the Wild Hunt.

But the side quests to the main quests are GOAT.

The Witcher Contracts are extremely well written and satisfying for just being "side quests."

The Treasure Hunt quests are neat and diverting.

But as a whole, your choices are quite impactful to all of the characters and, ultimately, the end game result.

Going into the final part of the game, I wasn't even sure how my actions influenced the outcome until the actual last bit.

*aren't quite

Only when 10 years will have gone by people on this board will praise this game again because it was one of the few games that had decent dialogue, character development and meaningful choices.
I can already see 2025 /v/ making TW3 threads like they make KOTOR 2 threads today.

>KOTOR 2 threads
Where are these at? I'd be there now if they existed. All I see is NV threads
>>
>>344406495
The Witcher 3 is the only WRPG with an open world worth playing and paying for.
And Gwent is basically the new Pazaak.
>>
>>344406495
From someone who thought that Returns was too linear but had excellent writing, much more engaging than Dragonball : Hong Kong was great, 9/10 experience
>>
>>344407060
I'm in Yurop and I post here at night, often I see a couple of them, but they don't get very far.
NV threads last longer because people shitpost about Bethesda and Fallout 4, engage in hardcore Toddposting and so on.
Also, it may be summer. A few months ago there was one every day.

Ok I'll download it again but is the game really long that its like 20-30 gb ?

>>344406587
I don't know it just got boring after a while.

>>344407142
Ok I'll try it though one thing which I found bad in all the shadowrun games was that skills outside of combat skills were generally for getting better rewards instead of opening different paths and stuff.
>>
>>344407684
The Witcher 3 IS pretty fucking long.
If you 100% the game with the expansions you're looking at 200/300 hours for one playthough.
If you just want to do the secondary quests and the main quests in vanilla you'll get to 120+ hours anyways.
It's pretty fucking big and has small replay value. If you end up playing NG+ you're going to permanently live in your mom's basement.
