I liked how it played and how good the levels were. Yes, the movies were pretty lengthy but I thought they were well-written with the exception of one or two.

TTYD

story and characters are cute and funny, areas are cool. Combat is where the game shines, imo it perfects the turn-based battle system with timed hits, counters, and stylish submoves, the audience system, and the star meter
>>
Dark Souls 1
Combat was fun even if it boiled down to you walking in circles trying to get a backstab on enemies. Having the lore out of the way instead of being shoved in your face made it way more interesting. Other than Izalith, everywhere in the game is great with cool bosses.
>>
Runescape.

I was happy back then.
>>
>>344382408
FFTA2
Lack of difficulty and an "epic" story aside, I love the music, look, and adventurous atmosphere the game has. It also has a ton of content. Definitely what I'd want with me If I was trapped on a deserted island with infinite charge and one game.
>>
Mass effect 3
After having played me1 and 2 several times and reading all the non-game material I was heavily invested in the characters and the game universe. The final game, to me, was a masterpiece and I genuinely do not understand all the hate. Nor do I want to understand. If that makes me a biodrone then fine. I liked it, and that's all that matters to me.

I'm surprised.
There's a special place for that game in my heart and it's good to see more people sharing that feeling, specially when it's so often overshadowed by the original FFT and FFTA.

I really wish another one comes out some day. I'd even take an updated remake/collection.

>Elder Scrolls V
I enjoy the world, the lore and exploration. It's extremely replayable and every time I do a different character, I'll probably find something I haven't done before. I enjoy the spellcasting as well, even if it has less spells than previous ES games

>>
>>344384248
I kinda don't. I mean, it would be nice and all, but not only I have a hard time trusting SE after they tried to prostitute it to mobile devices, but I also think A2 captured exactly the feeling A1 was shooting for.

People keep repeating the escapism meme, but A2 kinda does that perfectly. Instead of gravitating towards an epic story and solving a huge crisis, you get to trully experience being sucked from a normal life into this fantasy world where you could fight for glory and make a name for yourself.
It helps that even though there is some world saving going on in the background, the relationship between the main character stays focused on growing your clan, expanding your influence and doing quests in the form of good old contracts for money and loot.
I'm not even into FF, but I feel this game accomplishes this feeling of adventure that many MMOs and RPGs of old strived for, but very few pulled it off. With charming visuals and a tear-shedingly beautiful soundtrack and you have the best sandbox-style RPG of all time, as far as I'm concerned.
>>
>>344382408
The Legend of Zelda (pretty much almost any of the franchise)
why? because it gives me the feeling of getting better with time. it's not like other RPGs where you can put 5 points in St, Int, Stam,... and it barely makes a difference. In Zelda you can see yourself grow, getting more hearts with every accomplishment. With beating some really big bad guy, making good things for another person, or just exploring what is world around you offering. it makes you grow as a person and your heart meter is showing you that. also all the weapon you get. you get better with fighting enemies because you know how to utilize your arsenal that gets bigger and better. that's what I love about it.
also the feeling of adventure.

Earthbound.

I enjoy the story, themes, and music a whole damn lot, and I also played it when I was very young, so the feelings I get during my various replays are all the more moving. It's just a fun quick journey that I love the hell out of.

Final Fantasy 7. Favorite story, characters, and music from any game. Love the materia system and how it actually not only affected gameplay but had an important role in the plot. I also just have alot of nostalgia for it. First rpg and first 3d game I ever played.

Halo 2

It was and still is a comfy game for couch coop with my friends and almost everything about the game is perfect.

>Bully
I can never decide between this and San Andreas, but I think the light-heartedness, humour and John Hughes style world makes this my favourite Rockstar game
>Homeworld
It simplified the RTS formula in all the ways I didn't care about (tech trees, resource collecting, base building) and added a fucking 3rd dimension to the one part I did care about: combat. Add to that the gorgeous design and a vision of space there was completely unlike any other hand at the time-colourful and full of light, plus an epic story that operated on a scale that blew my fucking mind as a child, this has been my gold standard in narrative games for ages.

>>344385747

Dead Space 1, I was going to say Marathon:Bungie or Dino Crisis but fuck, Dead Space 1 I think I replayed the most and became a fulfilling franchise.

Dead Space 1 just had the right Alien atmosphere and a good enough third person shooter action that it feels just fucking right.

Lost Planet 2.
It's my favorite because it reminds me of easier times.
Not to mention its great replayability and decent loadout variety, VSs, and level verticality.
It felt good going from being a failure at 3-3, to running it like a professional.
I hate that I never did ride in a fully-manned Tencale-8 VS, which carries 8 people, or even got to fire the MP-only Black Hole Generator, but it's alright.

Just kidding it's either Red Alert 2 or Tiberian Sun.

RA2 because shit's goofy, the graphics are fucking beautiful, all the dialogue is amazing, and the soundtrack is outstanding.

TS because shit's cool, the graphics are fucking beautiful, almost all the dialogue is amazing, the atmosphere feels EXACTLY like what they were going for to the point where I genuinely believe that it's a pinnacle of atmosphere in vidya, and the soundtrack is outstanding.

My main gripe with Triangulum was that they didn't make a new ending in the Septentrion arc to accomodate it. The whole beginning portion makes it feel so shoehorned at first. Good once it gets rolling too.

I literally cannot name a game that is my single most favorite so I'll just say my favorites and say why they are.

1. Maximo Ghosts To Glory
2. Drakan: The Ancient Gates
3. Gears of War
4. Prince of Persia SoT/WW
5. Legend of Zelda MM/WW/TP
6. G-Nome
7. SOCOM FTB2
8. Death Jr.
9. The Secret of Monkey Island
10. Sanitarium
11. Alundra 2
12. AoE: II
13. Call of Duty 4/WaW/MW2
14. Battlefield Bad Company 2
15. Halo Wars
16. Mario RPG
17. Super Mario World
18. Luigi's Mansion
19. Conkers Bad Fur Day
20. Harvest Moon
21. Animal Crossing
22. Medievil
22. Resident Evil 1/2/0/4
23. Silent Hill 1/2
24. Spyro
25. THPS 4
26. Pocket Tanks
27. Fable
28. Alice Madness Returns
29. LIMBO
30. Midnight Club
31. Metro 2033/Last Light

These are all my favorites because I believe they show true effort and passion from the developers. They has fresh ideas and creative control. They were simple and fun. Also most of them had a very rich atmosphere that suited there game well and that made it very involving and memorable.
>>
Battlefront 2

Watching those wrist rockets and blasting rebel scum still makes me happy to this day.

Shame what happened to my favorite franchise. Apparently instant action is being patched into BattlEAfront but I don't like multiplayer at all so maybe pick up edition with all the content but otherwise fuck that game.

Secret of Mana
I love the gameplay, artstyle, and music. It would've been a flawless game if they could've incorporated the menu into real time. It also holds a special place in my heart because me and my younger brother beat it together.

I feel like Ronaldo was the only offensive one. Maybe also Jungo, but it kinda grew on me. I feel like Miyako should've been more stern and firm in her tone, she kinda came off flat.

Batman: Arkham

I love beat 'em ups and stealth games, and that series give me both. I do know it has things to improve: combat should be more about crowd management and less about building a big combo (everyone should attack you with no mercy, it's up to you to keep everyone under control), stealth should not rely in advantage points and be more about actual infiltration (every predator room and place in general should have more than one way to access it, and you should discover the best one by yourself, once you are in things should be easy if you picked the best way, and noise and darkness should play a bigger role). It's still the closest thing i have for my ideal game, and ever since i played Arkham Asylum i'm a batfan, so it's like an auto feedback.

Ain't original but, Ocarina of Time. It was the first game that genuinely felt like I was on an epic quest. It's world is small by modern standards, but that variety made the exploration and progression through the game exciting. By the Temple of Time I felt I had already been on a huge adventure. but when you turn into and adult, and walk out the temple and see Death Mountain on fire in the background, and Castle Town all wrecked and ruined - it surprised me with a sense of peril like no other game has since. It felt mature, but not in a grimdark edgy way. Fuck man, I wish I could erase it from my brain and play it all over again.

I can still boot up the game and feel shivers when I hear that title music. Get a little teared up like a bitch as well

Oh yeah, at the time my favorite superhero was Spider-Man, and i tought Batman was not as cool for not being an actual superhero (as he doesn't have superpowers). But even then i recongize how good DCAU was.

Now since i played those games, i'm 100% DCuck. I have seen almost every Batman and DC Comics TV and movies that exists, started into comics and i even liked BvS over Deadpool.

I watched Spider-Man on dvd atleast a million times a day on dvd, saw 2 in theaters but as I got older I grew to love Batman and his rogues gallery more than him sometimes. I hate seeing his origin in everything though. I like the hero movies and all but for awhile now I've been burnt out after watching Winter Soldier. I stopped watching Arrow, Flash, AoS,Agent Carter and everything else because I realized the movies trump them. Arrow turned to shit after S2 I miss Deathstroke, but I stuck through til S4 and dropped it after Felicity was shot. I always have a spot for Batman though.

Starfox

It was so ridiculously far ahead of anything at the time it was released
Everything about it was done with love, the level design, the enemy/boss design, the powerups, it was when Nintendo could still be considered great

In fact I think Starfox can be used as a yardstick for the company's progress, every gen where Starfox was good, was a good gen, every gen where Starfox was clearly neglected, well that gen sucked. Including the Wii.
