Some of the spinoffs are decent, I really liked Xenonauts but even from a previous xcom player it took me fucking forever to get the hang of it. The sequel should be some good shit.

Yes. Make sure to buy the expansion pack "Enemy Within" it adds mechs to the game. Theres nothing as satisfying as punching aliens so hard through they fly through concrete walls.

If you want a crappier Fire Emblem yeah. It was ok, but in no way great and just as undeserving of the X-Com name as 'that' half of the franchise.
Finish Enemy Within, then LW > Enemy Within, then snack on XCOM2.
