I work in a pizza shop and the old owner taught me some good shit. Old owner was an alcoholic tho and ran it into the ground with some bad business practices. New owners got the customer service back under control but can't figure out the food, and every pizza cook they get makes their shit doughy, and they all learn from the guy before them so they all turn it once in the brick oven instead of 2-3 times so it's not cooked that evenly (generally acceptable, but not great). I'm the fry cook and I'm just there to make some extra cash so I don't care to speak up. Makes me lol when someone orders a 16" pie and the crust is so large the inside of the pie is like that of a 14" or less.
The old owner showed me a method where you just take the dough before fully stretching it and you hang it from the edge while turning it like a wheel to create kind of a separation for the crust. I literally showed the new boss how to do it, but he couldn't grasp that you just use the weight of the dough to do the stretching and don't actually stretch it by hand at that point, so he couldn't do it without thinning it out. So now our pies are all doughy.
Sometimes I daydream about what it would be like if Ramsey came and whipped us all into shape. But we're too podunk for that to ever happen.

The new pizza guy is a retired army guy who started as a driver back when I was working for the old owner, with decent work ethic but otherwise fucking stupid in a kitchen. He didn't learn anything from the old boss that I did, he only learned how to, again, rush shit out. He works like a dog though and stuck with the company through thick and thin so now he's the manager.
At first, when I came back under the new management, he didn't respect me so whenever I tried showing him the right way to do stuff he just blew it off. Rotating stuff in the fryer wasn't worth his time. Me? Throw your busiest night at me, after coming in behind fuckoffs who do nothing to keep the place in decent operation, and I can still find time to rotate stuff in the fryer so it cooks right. I'm a fucking beast in that kitchen. Anyone who wants to learn is free to ask, but I don't give advice when it isn't asked for because I know better.
Now that we've worked together a while and he sees I'm not actually a fuckoff, I could probably try again to show him. Anyways, they want me to take on more hours and start cooking pizzas, so I might take that on soon. If my other job doesn't promote me first anyways.

Star Citizen. I put in $30 and havent been paying much attention so I'll enjoy whatever there is when its done, and expect it to be well worth it.
For Early Access, I'm pretty fucking disappointed in Tripwire's total lack of understanding of what make KF1 so damn good. They seem to have a philosophy of giving the players as little tactical control as possible while enforcing a clusterfuck of trash and tanky boss zeds.
Also pretty disappointed in KSP but for how little I put in it was pretty damn good before they indefinitely stalled doing fucking anything once resources was pending implementation.
Just got Subnautica and that's moving along pretty nicely, so I'm happy with that.

Characters are interesting, Its easy to get into, online modes are fun as heck. It basically paralells MVC in the whole "choose a team" style roster.

Those are three I'm definitely picking up on release. Yooka Kaylee is a maybe because I didn't ever really get into bjk as a kid but it looks great. Bloodstained also has my attention, I really like how it looks.
Who else really likes what crowdfunding has done for the industry? I genuinely think it's directly responsable for the design diversity we enjoy today. It's easy to forget that before the wave started RTS was still a completely dead genre, classic western rpg's were still dead, adventure gaming was even deader and "sandbox"was synonymous with "GTA clone"

It's years overdue and there are only a handful of developers on it despite being in such a sorry state. It's still extremely buggy and poorly coded. They are literally content to "keep their current pace" and pander to the 50 people in their bi-weekly 1 hour streams and discourse. This game got more KS funds than Grim Dawn by the way. But hey, we get turnip turrets and more building templates (which had to be designed in such a way as to not totally assfuck their building and scaffolding code).

It has an internally consistent style and top notch animation
Looking at the design of any fighting game roster and it becomes clear that they're loose collections of caricatures and stereotypes: it's what makes them work. Characters play on tropes that way because it immediately communicates information to the player about them in a genre where characters don't otherwise get the chance to be fleshed out.
