Because every character has their appeal, and focus strongly on that. Everyone is different and naturally want different things. In the end it's all subjective, and such. As for this topic, Chie is a good person who cares for others, and it's admirable she wants to get into a profession to protect others as well. Great person and character, and I wish the best for those who really like her and for her in the future, if she shows up again in the series.
