the answer was yes, but not in public.
In fact, I remember when I was studying with a bunch of other students in my class. Several of them were mindblown by emulator and some were playing super mario world on their laptops.
(this was like in 2008).

Year 4 of my architectural design class, we did not give a single shit. Played Touhou everyday all period for a year.Never got any good at the game
