Seems there's a lot of interest in a Terraria type of game. How'd Edge of Space?It's $1 on G2A.

Only thing I kickstarted...it's pretty mediocre, it's not bad, it's just...meh. There are other better terraria likes.

Is anyone actually improving the genre or are they all just looking at Terrarias success and shouting "Ooh, us too!"?
I only think Terraria is alright and to make it another game in that vein they need to do something substantially different.
Not just filler content.
Red is hardworking so I have some vague sense of hope that he can make a new terraria like game that is actually different enough to matter, but from what I've seen he hasn't done that yet. It'll sell though so he doesn't really have to.

Shit awful. It might have changed in the 6 odd months since I played it but I don't fucking care. Something that bad needs to die, not be remade.
If terraria is to be used for reference as a 10, starbound is a 6, and edge of space is walking into your house to find you neighbors dog fucking your grandma's corpse.

Pointers: you can't mine anything except the ground, basically, without a workbench (V is crafting) and the saw. Picking up stuff is double-tapping X.

Character starts out with a laser rifle. Basic tools and a gun after that is just ground and tree materials.
Not feelin' it.
I'm probably an hour in, and it seems like the whole game is just mining. Obviously haven't experienced interesting gear or mounts yet, but the mining is really shitty with the starter tool, and I don't have any recipes to have a goal.
