I don't think it was nearly as bad though. It was heavily implied in Lisa the First that Lisa was actually raped by her Dad. Also, his Dad actually physically assaulted his own children. Brad only did it a few time near the end game to Buddy because his nerves were fucked up by Joy and because the entire situation was very stressful. His dad didn't have the same excuse.
