I have never owned a good PC or console, all I have is my garbage laptop and my 3ds.
I need your help with something;
Name some great video games that a shit laptop can handle.
bonus points for the game being on steam and also being a worthwhile investment (I want something to play for a while)

Don't buy the ubishit "HD" edition on Steam though, get the Complete one and install the HD mod on it.

duskers and brigador are really fun and low spec. if your toaster can handle them, i highly recommend you pick them up

How shit? I have a shit laptop, but it plays more than you might realize. Depends on if you're willing to turn graphics down and live with less than 60fps to play them. For example, I can play technomancer which just came out. Granted it looks like a decade old game.
That said, just look at a list of best games from like 2000 and pic and choose. Or run an emulator.
Other than that, and being time sinks, fallout 1/2, kotor 1/2, starcraft, c&c, stardew valley, etc.

OpenRA, Warzone 2100, Cossacks: Back to War and Original War are great RTS games. The first two are free, the other two are 5 bucks each on Steam.
Space Rangers 2 and Drox Operative are pretty cool, too.
