I've seen one yellow gym so I'd say go for that just to have more fights. I went red and apparently so did everyone else because this is a red zone with occasional pathetic attempts to take gyms from blue.

Does anyone know what the blue glow surrounding some pokemon means? Check your pokemon - some of them should be glowing blue. I thought this might relate to the power bar that curves over each pokemon on the stat screen, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Any ideas?

Hmm. I think blue means your pokemon are recently caught.
My Squirtle, Rhyhorn, and Growlithe don't have blue; I got those on my first day. All my other pokemon have the blue.
