If the screenshot floating around really is a CaC Buu, then it's easy to infer that the character lost all of his/her gear (at least visually) after the transformation. The only thing that Buu is wearing is the same pants Kid Buu has always worn, so unless the player just happened to be dressed exactly like that, it's likely Dimps was too lazy to bother transferring apparel to the new form.
In any case, that character was literally Kid Buu with a color swap, and I'm a bit hesitant to believe they wouldn't even keep the player's custom facial features after the transformation, so I'm still hopeful it was just a P2 palette for Kid Buu.

Basically, you try to line up spheres by color and collect them with characters to fill up a Ki meter. If a character shares the same color as that sphere, they get double Ki. The more full the Ki meter. The more damage, and if it's full, they launch a super attack.
You make a team of 6 characters. The leaders have abilities that vary in how good they are, and every character has a passive. Some are much better than others. You level characters up to the highest level depending on their tier, and once they hit max level, they can upgrade by one tier, but only once. Some characters can upgrade twice, but they're special.
They put special mission in often that usually have to do with upgrading the main character on whatever summon event is going on

Xenoverse combos consist of X>X>X>X>Y in about 7 different variations. Tenkaichi 3 at the very least has directional attacks and character specific combo timings and attack speeds. not to mention ultimates actually require a tiny bit of effort to pull off, and transformations are (A) there to begin with and (B) open up different movesets for characters that have them. Not to mention blasts and fusions and team battles and stage selects and BGM selects and so on.

Gohan's hair did change. It went from his base hair to his SSJ1/2 hair. They're similar, but not the same (Gohan had two hair strands falling in front of his face, and his hair was kind of swept back then transforms and it's only one and it's all spiked upwards)
Still, considering how Xenoverse 1 didn't even changed SSJ 1 hair aside from color, they'll likely just overlook that here.
