Mobile gaming isn't exclusively crushing Japan's game industry, it's just that Japan's console industry is ridiculously weak. That's probably why Activision decided to hire Platinum for some tie-in games, much cheaper to develop and the developers have some sort of pedigree. If other developers take notice, then we will have effectively come full circle to the NES days.
