1024x768 is a 4:3 aspect ratio.
the game is 1920x1080 wich is a 16:9 aspect.

It wouldn't have hurt to change the 3D projection just for gameplay and make it 16:9 for cutscenes like the previous games.

The game looked stunning in 2007 and still looks exceptionally good to this date, sadly it's one of the game's few merits.
Enabling NV highly boosts the framerate because post processing shaders are being disabled, but of course you're stuck with a monochrome green monitor.
