Tested it last night extensively and I can confirm it works. Someone posted it on gbatemp. Although it's only for iOS, it works really well.
Walking obviously doesn't work you just have to go to the nearest landmark on the GPS spoofer or whatever and GO will warp you there.
Also the app is called LocationFaker.

I chose red because I want to be on the winning team for once. Being on the Resistance in Ingress is Japan is SUFFERING.
1: catch Zubat... game crashes and don't have him.
2: catch Spearo... game crashes and don't have it.
3: catch some Eevee, Pidgeons, a Haunter... game crashes repeatedly.
4: find first training place... game crashes
5: go to mall for an hour... game down the entire time
6: find training spot... game crashes
7: put an egg in incubator which says I need to go 10 km to hatch it.... many hours later still at 0.0 km
8: Every single time I open the game I have to log in again. Game crashes... log in. Click out to respond to a FaceBook message... log in. Answer phone call... log in. Over and over and over.
9: Find gym at mall. Game crashes during battle when boss has 100 hp left. Start gym battle again... crashes and all my guys are dead. Start again... crashes.
10: Somehow I won a gym battle though... but never saw it and am not the gym leader.
Also, my mall is filled with fucking rats. I caught 20 Ratatatas when the game was actually working.

open the app store and log out of your account at the bottom.
search for Pokemon go in the US app store while logged out
try to download
create a new apple ID with a us address/zipcode/phone number you pull off google

This is the doduo I evolved. I maxed the CP fist and the resulting dodrio had way more CP(151 to 351) but the bar was still full. Then when my trainer level went up I could power up 2 more times and it has done that every trainer level after that. As you can see my power up is maxed out.

it's their Combat Power (CP). Only Power Up a Poke's final evo or preferred evo stage (i personally prefer Haunter over Gengar, etc). Save your candy for evolving your Poke if you want to evolve it.
From what I understand CP only really matters if you want to leave a Poke at a gym to protect it for you while your away because technically you can defeat any Poke with any other (regardless of CP) if youre good enough at dodging their attacks at Gym battles.

Something I like is that there's no permadeath, but you do get your weapon broken on death. Weapons aren't required to attack like in FE, but they do help out of course. You have to pay gold (non-IAP currency) to fix it, and the only way to guarantee a successful fix is to use some rare medals (non-IAP currency). Get really unlucky, and you can lose the weapon forever. So there's still a strong incentive not to let your good units die in the harder content.
