I've noticed zero improvements to my play experience when compared to the cheap Dell keyboard I had before.
The only noticeable difference is that typing and spamming keys is now deafeningly loud in comparison.

Pretty much this. Mechanical keyboards are great for typing speed/accuracy and greatly reduces the stress it puts on your finger muscles over long periods, but thinking it actually makes you in any way better at video games is stupid shit perpetuated by MLG esports faggots and companies who want to sell overpriced keyboards. Next these people will tell me the RGB backlighting increases my KDR by 20%.
And if you use stupid meme gaming switches like MX Reds you're an idiot and you'd might as well just use a membrane keyboard.
