I wouldn't recommend anyone playing on Very Hard, or even Hard in early game. If you want the game harder (which is a natural desire, as the game is pretty easy), JSawyer.esp lowers player's HP significantly and places some restrictions on healing. There are probably mods that push that direction more, so you end up with a game where both you and your enemies die fast, which is more fun for most people, I think.
What about Grenade Rifles, anyway? You can find some on the raiders on your way to Niption, I think.

grenade rifles are terrible, they are difficult to aim and aren't even as powerful as a standard frag grenade. you should save all of the 40mm that you find for Mercy. and i have no trouble playing on very hard in the early game, i can't imagine how easy it would be if you played on anything less. it's just that dynamite is total shit on that difficulty.

Except these directly influence the difficulty of combat. No strength/skill req. means that picking a heavy weapon at level 2 allows you to make full use of it whereas in NV you will lose accuracy. Abundant supplies means you can spam stimpaks in combat and never die considering how common they are, an issue not in NV (save for those who have DM). The same goes for perks.
Having iron sights doesn't make combat much easier, and cazadores and deathclaws aren't the only tough enemies - the DLCs have a lot of these. Anybody who played 3 and NV knows that 3 is piss easy without rebalance mods.

there's a lot of stimpaks in new vegas, and there is an even more potent version of the stimpak that didn't exist in F3. not to mention you can craft them, so you don't even need to find them. the mutfruit is the only "rare" ingredient in the super stimpak, and it's not even that rare, there are many merchants who sell two at a time. never had a problem with strength requirements since i rarely dip it below 5, and when i do it's for a sneak build so combat isn't even the main focus. iron sights do make combat much easier, aiming manually in F3 was a huge chore. i guess you don't play FPS very often. and i'm not counting DLC, just comparing the vanilla game. both games give you overpowered things in the DLC.

He's hiding from a "Mr.Bishop" who apparently "knows the wasteland like the back of his hand" (runs in the family probably). In Fallout 2, if you play a male you can impregnate the Bishop family head's wife or daughter and the child ends up in turn ruling the family in the ending. People just put two and two together
How do I make the iron sights look good when aiming in first person? If you turn off true iron sights, it looks smooth when you aim. But with normal sights, it looks really bad. How can I change this? I can't be doin with this

If you don't have access to Sierra Madre vending machines then they're significantly less abundant than 3. In 3 each fucking first aid box is designed to give you from 1 to 3 stimpaks - it is IMPOSSIBLE to find a medikit that doesn't contain one stimpak. NV first aid boxes don't give you guaranteed stimpaks - at worst they give you an empty syringe.

What enemies do you qualify as challenging in 3? In vanilla the only challenging enemy is the deathclaw, and with a dart gun they're piss easy. The tough enemies in 3 come from DLCs - overlords, reavers, albino scorpions.

That's your personal experience. Not everybody puts points into STR, and heavy weapons typically have high strength req. The fact that a level 2 character with 2 STR can perfectly use a Fat Man is pure nonsense, especially considering the Fat Man is given to you at the beginning of the main quest.

In the case of JSawyer Ultimate, it changes it so the armour is only a disguise if you have negative rep with the owning faction. So you can wear Legion armour without NCR shooting you on sight and without it doing that stupid reputation resetting thing with the Legion.

deathclaws, glowing ones and mercenaries are the tough enemies in vanilla 3. ghouls got a serious downgrade in new vegas, for some reason. if you have neutral karma then you don't have to deal with mercs, but you still have to fight deathclaws regularly, since they spawn in every cell of the map at high levels, with the exception of the D.C. ruins. new vegas has nothing like that, most of the enemies you run into are geckos and bloatflies and if you stay on the road, there are literally no encounters.

Just installed it myself. Their newest installer is just click create then install the fomods with the mod manager (the better one on the nexus that can handle large fomods) ignore it when it says it stopped responding and voila. Also install the extras if you want and there you go.
Pro tip: you're gonna wanna have a completely vanilla game for this, so completely uninstall all mods in NV and then find ttw patched mods and install them AFTER you get out of the vault.

You can actually get it on your very first visit to the Den.
In Klamath, you might have noticed a car on the other side of the fence when you first enter the Trapper Town district. This car is broken but it already has a fully functional Fuel Cell Controller.
You can get to it if you take the tunnels underneath Trapper Town to kill the mole-rat, it has another path leading up that goes on the other side of the fence (there is a door you will either need pretty high lockpicking OR an explosive to bypass though).
After you get the Fuel Cell there, your next stop is most likely The Den, and from there all you need is to manage to raise the 2000 caps to have it installed.

Highest critical damage of any gun in the game. It's essentially an anti-material rifle without the weight or expensive ammo.
As for the sights bug, vanilla hunting rifle has the same thing. You just gotta learn how to compensate.
