In Ingress you can actually take pictures of landmarks and request for them to be made into areas of interest.
I haven't tried it yet because I uninstalled Ingress a long time ago and I'm already in a very stop-heavy city, but if any of you anons in barren areas want more stops, I think it's worth a shot to request some in Ingress and see if GO is still borrowing from that database. I have no reason to believe they aren't still.

I put up an Oddish into a gym and the attack it with a Zubat of approximately the same CP. I keep mashing and attacking faster than Oddish and Oddish is using Razor Leaf which is 1/4 to Zubat. Still, Zubat gets rekt immediately and Oddish is at more than half HP. Same then happens with Pidgeot of better CP and Drowzee attacking with Psywave.

Its pretty buggy and the placement of gyms and pokestops would make me look like a pedophile for going there.
Had the game freeze, had the capture mode stop working forcing me to restart, my pokestop and gym are an elementary school. Walked around for 2 hours but found the best pokes at my house because its some random hotspot for rares.

Well I just got done walking around the upper east side of Manhattan for 20 minutes trying to catch pokemon like a retard at 2 in the morning. Was surreal to say the least.
Took me forever just to log in and once I did I had to restart the app several times due to frequent hangs and unresponsiveness. Someone else said earlier this was par for the coruse with gatcha-style apps but holy fuck is this shit buggy.
Which is sad because I kinda like their take on geocaching games, just wish they didn't half ass it. At least I got good at catching ZUBATS, those fuckers were hard as shit to hit when I first started. Though I managed to catch every other pokemon on the first try. Also all the gyms around me are already taken, I thought this shit just came out?
