I don't. I play what I enjoy playing and when my priotity backlog gets boring, I rotate some for another title in my backlog I didn't play yet or that I haven't played in a long time.
Backlogs are a chore, you want to make games feel like work?
I play what I feel like, I don't care if I don't get around to opening every game I've ever purchased on a whim.

Less work more of a bucket list of video games
If they aren't fun they aren't staying on my backlog
I keep a list of games going and alternate between days of playing them, usually one game for a different genre up to about 5 or 6 games. This is so that playing games is not a mundane hobby and I get to explore new games in my library more often. Using the steam tabs for organization is great so I don't have to use a separate program/browser.
