You make it to the center of the Grox empire and get the end cutscene and then get a rod of life with 42 uses.

It's gonna be cool for the first few hours.

Then you realize all the "procedural" generation is just the same shit but this time painted red instead of blue.

What I fucking want is to find my very own planet and encounter lethal purple gas clouds that are sentient beings and aren't found anywhere else in the universe. But I know it's going to be more like "auburn brochiosorus with green spots" and "E3 fish"
>>
I want to be hyped but I have a feeling it will be a walking simulator. I'll land on the same kind of biome planet ten times in a row and discover the same minerals and animals I already cataloged on my first day playing. I'll visit an empty spaceport to interact with stiff AI that either want to kill me or give me shit all for stuff I've found. I'll have to spend days tracking down one necessary mineral I need to craft new equipment. That is, after I figure out I actually need it because there's no catalog of recipes or blueprints. So not only will I visit the same planet biome dozens of times but it will take forever just to upgrade my suit so that those planets don't drain my health.

It'll be a more polished and stylized but crappier Subnautica.

You can never satisfy everyone.

There's autists that claim the game is sht because it's not realist like SE

This game was sold almost as a "sim universe" since it was revealed but we've seen almost nothing about the variations of alien life. >every major advertisment

There's your problem. You are watching sony's ads. Not interviews or videos from the devs.

Sony is only shilling the game because it's a ps4 exclusive, the devs never cared about the game becoming a huge success and have only barely bothered to release marketing stuff on their own as a result, but what they have released actually goes into detail on stuff.

>>344128109
They've said the further in the galaxy you get, the more esoteric and actually alien it will get.

By the time you get to the middle, they've said it will hardly even be recognizably being animals or planets.

>>344104906
>>344104775
As somebody who has actually worked on a game with other people, I love how /v/ always misses the point of this and whines at EA

what caused the shift in spore's design goals wasn't EA, it was people inside the dev team disagreeing.

Working on the game I worked on gave me a huge appreciation for how easily two people, who both want the best for a game, can cause catastrophic damage to it just by doing what they think is right for it. And that's just 2 people. Scale that up to 30 or even a hundred people.

Making games is hard. You have to not only be competent at doing your job, but balancing that, and what you think is best, with what everybody else thinks is best. It's as much interpersonal skill as it is artistic/programming/3d modelling skill.

At least, that's how it was for me. If you actually have an hierarchy it's probably easier.

>There's your problem. You are watching sony's ads. Not interviews or videos from the devs.

>>344131504

They're only vague on questions like "IS THERE GODZILLA IN THE GAME" or everything regarding multiplayer, which they confirmed is a minor part of the game anyway.

Not him, but there's absolutely nothing worth the hype honestly. They said that you'll roam on procedurally generated planets to get upgrade materials, to make a better ship and jump further everytime.

The key word is procedural, and there's not been a single open world game doing procedural generation in an interesting way. Considering the size of the dev team, it is dellusional to hope for more diversity than
> blue raptor with a big tail has the same model on planet A as red raptor with a smaller tail on planet B.

It is going to be a devastating disappointment if you hope for more than that. Sure they will have one or two cool alien models, but the diversity is bound to be poor and artificially "endless"
>>
I watched some of the streams and they've been advertising it wrong, then even noted it in one of them.
