I'm forty five hours in, and on the 'Fire Emblem' chapter. It's a really strange feeling seeking out these 'ancient' heroes that you have actually played as before in other games. It feels much more poignant than other games that use the idea.

It's not quite SMT. It's not quite Persona. It's actually closer to SMT IV than anything. But it doesn't have some of the things that I don't like from SMT.
I'd love to see this continue, maybe under something not related to FE. Just make a sequel to this and call it a megaten game

It literally says the entertainment thing is the whole premise for the game because it's believed that the performing arts in Japan are the closest one gets to higher beings. They obviously just went with the popular, modern form of performing arts. I guess they could have made the game with a more historical format, but that likely wouldn't have attracted as much attention. Even less attention than it's already attracting.

I know they mentioned it, but it was very brief and I thought it was inconsequential since they just wrote it off as typical gossip. I assumed there was some script differences in the Jap and NA version that actually CONFIRMED it, but I guess the localization was pretty faithful in that regard.

The only real censorship in that dungeon are the outfits themselves, changing it from gravure to regular photo shoots, the story itself in the dungeon is hardly changed since Tsubasas problem wasn't really wearing skimpy outfits.
She just didn't understand the concept of model and photographer working in unity and feeding of each other, or something among those lines.
Besides that the only NoA exclusive changes are the swim suit outfits being changed with street clothes, Hot Spring DLC removal, changes to that fuck ugly wedding dress and no more panty shots during sessions. If I remember correctly.
Even with the whole idol theme the actual game has suprisingly few fanservice for that type of genre.
