Got this thing as a drop. Why do so few people talk about it? The reach, speed, damage and moveset are superb. It's buffable. It has bleed. It can be used on a quality or dex build no issue. It let's you kick despite being a curved sword.
I've only ever seen 3 in pvp and that was in the last two days, still mostly just meet dark swords. Why is this thing so under appreciated?

it's not underappreciated. It's THE meta weapon. All the scrubs and r1-spammers may be rocking dark swords and estocs, but the people who actually know what they're doing and are willing to go to great lengths to win will be using the carthus curved sword, most likely with Flynn's ring and light armor. A roll-catch light attack here, a buffered running attack there, always playing defensively and calling it "spacing" or "zoning."

It's literally the most broken weapon in pvp in das3. People cry about the estoc and dark sword because of all the youtube ecelebs baiting views with "MOST OP BUILD/WEAPON IN DARK SOULS" but anyone who looked beyond that would know that this sword is ten times more cancerous.

Well color me surprised. I keep my characters sl50 with +6 weapons for invasions, I never pontiff duel. Is that why I never see it? I had no idea it was meta, do most people not use it because it's just hard to get?

Because people are put off by it being a curved sword.
But realistically speaking, it's good. TOO good. Some are even calling for a nerf but since it's not used much it'll fall into deaf ears.
People do talk about it
its one of the most used weapons in the 120 "meta" and not only that it's the go-to weapon for dex builds
