There is none, you can; catch/level up pokemon, get items from stops, 'fight' at gyms, take over a gym for your faction
Thats it. You cant even battle your friends, and the 'battles' are actually just you swiping left/right to dodge all incoming attacks. I took over a gym with a 50 Weedle against a 120 Magmar.
